Gameplan

Descend is the core mechanic in this list, since it gives us lots of fungi (via Mycotyrant ability) to generate value with while also putting key reanimation targets like Syr Konrad, the Grim or Craterhoof Behemoth in our graveyard. This deck aims to maximize the amount of descents by running a considerable amount of self mill engines as well as some discard effects. Although not as efficient as self mill, some discard is necessary to keep dredge creature like Stinkweed Imp in the graveyard, since dredge is one of the stronger ways to self mill. Running discard also has the added bonus of getting any prime reanimation targets out of the hand and into the graveyard if they are unintentionally drawn.

Milling, reanimating, and casting cards from hand all in one turn can cost a lot of mana; which is where ramp pieces like Enduring Vitality and Insidious Roots can net a gigantic amount of mana if we play them with a board full of fungi. Cards such as Moldervine Reclamation and Vampiric Rites will help keep cards in hand, turning fungi into straight card advantage.

With solid ways to descend, the graveyard is stacked and an army of fungi amassed. Winning with this list mostly relies on using the fungi army in various ways. We can throw down cards that use the fungi tokens to grind the game to a halt and slowly overwhelm opponents such as Grave Pact or Mind Slash. There is plenty of recursion/reanimation effects in the deck, making it easy to use one of these cards if they have been milled or discarded. Another route to victory would be turning each fungus into damage via reanimating aristocrats such as Syr Konrad, the Grim or Mirkwood Bats. If we don't have a way to sacrifice the tokens for our aristocrat effects, we can still deal massive damage with a fungus army via reanimating Craterhoof Behemoth.
