God, this is beautiful! Probably one of the only "control" decks I'd be willing to play. Great job on this!!!

PotatoeWizard yes I have. Believe this is up to personal preference & meta, he would probably replace Narset. However Tron is popular where I live, and Narset has been valuable in that matchup (and in general - providing card advantage).

Pseudalopex_Culpaeus Glad you like it! Personally I think the list is a lot of fun to play. I've recently changed the text order in a primer, so some parts is a bit messy. But I hope it's understandable - I'll get to work on it eventually.

If there's any questions feel free to ask!

Hey this looks awesome. I myself have just gotten into modern and really want to play U/W but I really don't want to play the typical control everyone plays. I personally love Myth Realized and have been looking to make it a true powerhouse. This gives me a lot of ideas and I look forward to seeing how your match-ups went. I built a fog version U/W in my Violence is Not Necessary and has been pretty sweet. One question, with your Ghost Quarters and Path to Exiles have you tried running Leonin Arbiter or does he affect you too much? Good luck!

FullmetalWes Hi, thanks for your comment and for sharing my excitement for Myth Realized! I'm updating the site when I got time. My goal is to attend a tournament later this year.

I think the card is underrated in modern control, and it definitely needs to be explored more in order to reveal its full potential. I really enjoy the play style Myth promotes and how my deck almost feels like combo sometimes - how you chain spells and put counters on the Myths.

Regarding your question I don't think it's worthwhile, it'll just dilute the gameplan. The amount of creatures I run is at absolute maximum - apart from testing Archangel Avacyn. The list is all in on the Myth plan focusing on non-creature spells, which also l allows me to run Narset with greater effect. Arbiter promotes a different strategy entirely.

Only creature I'd consider at this point in testing would be Flip-Jace in place of the current walkers, but I'm not sure if that's needed.

What are your thoughts on Thing in the Ice  Flip?

Spotred says... #8

Ghosthunter39 Compared to Thing, Myth cost one less mana and doesn't warp your deck by favoring specific cards. Myth has a broader synergy spectrum.

Thing in the ice wants instant spells, comes down one turn later, is vulnerable to spot removal at all stages, and has awkward synergy with sweepers. This is why I like Myth more in UWb. In Jeskai I suppose Thing will be be better.

Hi, love your deck! Myth Realized is amazing! by the way, why do you play Epiphany at the Drownyard over Sphinx's revelation? Is it because of timely reinforcement? I think as a control player, you don't want your opponent to control what goes in your hand. And I don't think a one of timely reinforcement is good enough to justify playing the strictly worse card.

Uiluj that's great to hear, thanks!

You're absolutely correct. It was just a test to see how the card performed in the list, I updated it today and I'm back on Painful Truths!

Just to be clear: The reason why I run Truths over Sphinx is that I run 23 lands, and I normally don't get to the high mana level as the 26 land decks does. This might've changed with the singleton Crucible of Worlds in the list, but I've really enjoyed Truths so I'm sticking with it for now.

With the unbanning, Ancestral Vision might help.

Spotred says... #12

JakeKita I've been thinking about it, but I do think Serum Visions actually might just be better;

One of the most efficient plays in the deck is t1 colonnade, t2 myth + serum. AV gets t1-t2 priority in every list it's in, thus conflicting with Myth and t1 Colonnade. Also SV can get flashback from Snapcaster or rebound from Narset.

AV is definitely interesting, though it isn't for the Mythic Command list. My plan going forward is upping the Stony Silence count to three and probably replacing Spreading Seas with Remand.

I do agree. One of the biggest things with it is the 4 turns it just lingers in exile vs Serum Visions where you get value right when you play it.

I would for sure go up to 3 Stony Silence with the rise of Meek (though that may or may not last long with all the artifact hate) and affinity is going to go up (a lot of hate coming for me...).

Have you considered Thing in the Ice  Flip? It's a similar idea as Myth Realized where it gets big after playing some instants and sorceries. It has the added bonus of bouncing the field, but the disadvantage is that it is more vulnerable to removal. I'm thinking of making a UWR deck with both Myth and Thing that's similar to yours.

Spotred says... #15

PhnxLdr I've been thinking about it, and I don't think it'll fit my current list. Thing requires a specific deck design which means Jeskai or Esper are better support colors.

Running both is an interesting idea, however I'd be careful spreading your deck too thin - both cards requires spells but doesn't interact with each other. Personally I'd pick one not both.

Finally my biggest concern about the Thing is that it's vulnerable at all stages. Where Myth in comparison at least have some protection while it builds up. That being said, T-Ice has a shorter clock. Good luck and glad that my list could be to inspiration!

Interesting deck. I assume you use counterspells to prevent things like this Gleeful Sabotage or this Tranquility.

I personally like Rune Snag as a counterspell for early game. Since it targets all spells it can be used more often and isn't clogging up your hand. Paying 2 extra is a lot before turn 4 when you have already payed mana for the spell you are casting. If a second one comes out later its effect is scaled to late game strength.

Spotred says... #17

bootz Haven't seen those before, but yes, things like Negate, Spell Snare & Cryptic Command can protect Myth if needed.

Though, most of the time they are needed to interact with my opponent. I look to stop problematic two drops like Tarmogoyf with Snare. I like Negate over the classic Mana Leak because it's a definite answer without restrictions. Not hitting creatures are a minor draw back when they can be dealt with by Snare, Path, Explosives, Sphere & Verdict. Lingering Souls also goes a long way blocking creatures until I find an answer.

It's been awhile since I've commented here, but what do you think about adding Ancestral Vision to the deck as a 3-of. It's super strong as many predicted.

April 21, 2016 12:42 p.m.

Spotred says... #19

EverythingIsK good question. I have it in a private test list, but haven't really had the interest in testing it too much.

My initial thoughts is that it conflicts the early gameplan T1 myth / colonnade. Though, that being said AV is a stronger T1 play than those.

While card draw is valuable for the build, what we can draw in UW with 4 SV and 3 AV in the sixty is not too powerful. Jeskai and Grixis has a lot more valuable options to draw into.

I have to cut Runed Halo, Narset Trancendent & Sphinx's Revelation. It's not too bad, and I should probably test it a bit more before giving my final verdict.

EverythingIsK says... #20

having AV suspended then putting Myth down the next turn and let the rest of your value after that, AV will just refuel you. Certainly worth testing, but wouldn't be surprised if it didn't fit.

Spotred says... #21

EverythingIsK Indeed, fuel is highly important for the list so in theory is should be good. At least it does trigger Myth when it goes off suspend. Also, I probably should go up to two Timleys in the main, so that I have a chance to live long enough to see the pay-off.

With the chance the deck name also has to change - Mythic Visions. Hehe

I would not cut narset because she will be dealt with which gives you time plus draw

April 22, 2016 6:53 a.m.

AlexoBn That's true. Regardless of what people say about her, she repeatedly performs in my list.

April 26, 2016 1:15 a.m.

Spotred I'd like to know how this is going for you with Archangel Avacyn  Flip? I had her in a jeskai flash build but I felt like for 5 mana it's a bit too much. Her ETB trigger ain't that relevant in a control shell and she's quite vulnerable to removal spells. I never got to flip her in 5-6 games...

Instead I put back the good old Gideon Jura and I'm much satisfied with him. He buys so much time! Just wanted your opinion and experience on the angelly lady :)
