Tappedout deleted my old account so I'm reuploading my competitive decks with updates since then.

This Explorer/Pioneer control deck was modified from the Sphinx's Revelation + Elixir of Immortality standard deck. I played this specific color combo because my LGS had a few very smart players who sometimes played control. Keranos, God of Storms was the game 1 mirror breaker after fighting for Elixirs and it's a resilient finisher. Some reasons I'd tell you not to play this deck: Control decks do not need to reset their deck anymore due to way more consistent/faster win-cons; Graveyard hate from Rest in Peace, Farewell, and the fact that Elixir will not be printed in Arena(not that it needs to).

But if you enjoy playing on the backfoot/reactionary type decks then this one is for you.

This deck is built for Explorer format since it's by far more popular(see: easier to get into) competitively than Pioneer. If you want to play this for Pioneer, remove Gaea's Blessing and Clear the Mind for an Elixir and maybe something like Devious Cover-Up, Commit / Memory, or anything you feel you need as a 1-of/extra copy.

Updates Add

List has been updated to include new card choices. Notably the inclusion of Quicken and Azorius Charm. Quicken replaces itself and lets you play supreme verdict at instant speed. Sadly no Elixir; Again, Wizards doesn't need to print it for Arena otherwise they should just unban Nexus of Fate. I place my favorite win-con Keranos, God of Storms in as well. It's more resilient than a planeswalker-finisher since you'll never have enough devotion to turn it into a creature.

I'm currently testing the 4-drop slot. It's a matter of flexibility vs what you consider to be valuable, in my case it's repeatability. Deluge nets you a card at 4 looks. Jace at minimum will net you no cards at 3 reveals. You can only cast deluge once (not counting flashback since Revelation for 4 at a CMC of 7 is arguably better overall). Deluge is only interactable by counterspells. No draw denial effects work on either spell since it's worded as a "put into hand" instead of a draw. But Jace stays on the field; In a vacuum you can repeatedly use him. But on average you're looking at < 2 Fact or Fiction's. Probably less, and at sorcery speed.
