Maybeboard

So I just had this idea, about a deck that was specifically anti-CEDH. Like, it runs just a lot of hate pieces against some of the most common CEDH win-conditions, like Thassa's Oracle, Underworld Breach, Ad Nauseam, Dockside Extortionist loops, etc.

These win-conditions are usually based around graveyard loops, ETB effects, treasures, or drawing/casting many spells. So, I just put together a bunch of cards that stop those things, like limiting card draw or multiple spell casting, preventing ETB abilities, turning off creature and artifact abilities, etc. I also put in a bunch of counterspells, and some removal.

When deciding the commander, I wanted someone who presents a threat/win-condition on their own, as so much of the rest of the deck is based on disabling opponents, and not so much on my own combos and win-conditions. Also, since the idea is to shut down all these strategies, I can't really rely on them myself, as many of the cards included to stop them effect me too, not just opponents.

I thought that Sauron, the Dark Lord might be good, as it is a huge problem just by itself, generating card advantage and board presence. Colors are decent, but it's expensive to cast, and I didn't put a whole lot of ramp in the deck... White is a strong color for what I'm trying to do, so I still wanted a commander with white. Five color would be the best probably, because it would give me access to any card. Sisay, Weatherlight Captain is strong, but there isn't really enough synergy with her ability, as the rest of the deck is just like interaction and non-legendary cards.

Najeela, the Blade-Blossom isn't the biggest threat on her own, but there are a few 1 card combos with her for infinite attacks and warrior tokens, and these combos are not effected by the rest of the denial-strategy cards. I only included Nature's Will and Bear Umbra and Sword of Feast and Famine and Druids' Repository so far, but also included Dolmen Gate and Iroas, God of Victory *list* for support. Is this enough to rely on as the main win-condition? I'm not sure. It's kind of the only win-condition, as the creature base isn't very threatening. I didn't include card:

Humility might not work, but I figured, CEDH decks are relying less on number of creatures and more on what 1 or 2 key creatures do, so maybe humility can shut them down completely, and as long as I have/cast more creatures I could win, especially with Bear Umbra, or the Sword, or even Dolmen or Iroas.

I haven't played this yet, and probably won't for a while, as I would have to proxy up a lot of these cards, and there isn't a lot of CEDH in my metas anyways. I just thought it was a fun idea. Could this deck stand up against high level non-CEDH decks? I dunno. Is this deck CEDH? I dunno. Is it good or even works? I dunno.

Let me know what you think!
