This deck list will be changing periodically over the next couple of weeks as I will be play testing it and adding/removing cards.

This was previously an Atraxa superfriends deck.

I like this build. I feel like Ugin, the Spirit Dragon and Haven of the Spirit Dragon should be included. Maybe an Enlightened Tutor and/or Idyllic Tutor to get Doubling Season. Sterling Grove is also great to protect Doubling Season or to fetch it. Greater Auramancy doesn't hurt either, but Sterling Grove is better with the fetch ability.

Surprised you dont have the creature Narset in here: Narset, Enlightened Master

Thalia's Lancers can also find PWs since theyre now legendary. Enlightened Tutor is a solid card to ensure you can find your Doubling Season or Chain Veil.

Looks like a lot of fun! +1

what if i play Ruination?

February 8, 2019 12:01 a.m.

Jbubbarb says... #6

The deck could stand to add a few more basic lands, but chances are ruination is going to hurt even if I had 10 basic lands instead of 5.

Once I get more fetches in the deck the amount of basics will go up.

To answer your sarcastic question with a sarcastic answer though, I'd cast Teferi's Protection.

Sugoi! (Awesome!) I never thought of making a Superfriends deck w/ Najeela, the Blade-Blossom in the first place. Usually when I use stuff like Sliver Queen , so many seem to believe having defenses for your Walkers is extremely important; in my case, having Tokens. Though I might have gotten some inspiration from you to make a Next-Gen Superfriends Deck; but I'll have to wait until I get 4 things done:

  1. Make an Anti Animar, Soul of Elements deck.
  2. Keep working on a Vorthos deck based on my trials about the #MeToo movement (I'm really sorry for bringing this up. I just wanted my thoughts to be kind to the movement while bringing my point across; I'm self-confessing that I'm failing on this...)
  3. Work on ANOTHER Vorthos Deck based on Crimsoness; a 3-Minute visual Novel w/ a female protagonist, & her rage to destroy the Earth.
  4. I've always wanted to run a CMDR deck w/ Experimental Frenzy as a major part of the strategy. I'll ask from there. If I get an answer of interest...
  5. I'm working on it if need be... XP

I ADORE this Superfriends deck, sir. Even the likes of TolarianCommunityCollege abhors Superfriends, Planeswalkers in general, & think they should've been Sagas in the first place; which is further insult to injury as Sagas die after the 3rd Lore Counter. I digress though; this is the stuff of legends; & you really deserve that Upvote. Congratz! ^-o

What about a Kamahl's Druidic Vow . Grabs lands and legendary permanents. You could spent 8 mana and get a ton of value.

Great deck! How about including Karn?

February 15, 2019 6:44 p.m.

Jbubbarb says... #12

I've play tested with both Kamahl's Druidic Vow and Karn Liberated. KDV works out very well with Ramos, but meh for Najeela. Karn is pretty much a seven mana exile target permanent, he'd be much better if his + ability was 'each player'.

I think that Oath of Gideon and Settle the Score would be good in you deck.

February 16, 2019 1:24 p.m.

Jbubbarb says... #14

They definitely were in the deck at one point. Oath of Gideon came out because from what I've experienced, getting one additional loyalty on the Planeswalker entering rarely matters. It's either I punt the Planeswalkers out and it gets killed/I lose some warriors to block it or I cast doubling season/deepglow skate on the same turn as the Planeswalker and close out the game.

Settle the score is also good in the deck, but it's kind of tricky on what removal to put in a super friends deck.

Ideally you want a lot of your Planeswalkers to be some form of removal, because slotting in more removal means most likely cutting down on Planeswalkers. Assassin's Trophy doesn't interact with my Planeswalkers, but does get rid of anything I don't like as long as it's indestructible.

Again, settle the score is amazing, but if I slot in any more spell based removal it will most likely be vindicate.

You mentioned atraxa in your deck description, just wondering why you chose not to have her in here. Other than that damn good walker build.

February 18, 2019 8:36 a.m.

Jbubbarb says... #16

Atraxa should probably be in here, but she works better in Ramos super friends for the simple fact that she's 4 colors.

Atraxa is really good, but the proliferate triggering on end step makes her not that essential.

KayneMarco says... #17

Understandable. I have her at the helm of my walker deck and it has functioned well without her on the field as well.

Testing this out, and man is this a fun deck. Shoring up a weakness in superfriends by creating an early board and making blockers is genius. Also Amulet is unreal lmao. Looking forward to future updates!

what about Reconnaissance ? pseudo vigilance is good when you wanna have early board presence and blockers for the PWs

Nexus of Fate being an instant works with Teferi, HoD and its replacement effect is relevant against mill if our ulamog gets exiled.

As far as Noble Hierarch... On the record: Exalted helps out in the early game with Najeela attacking alone.

Off the record: It honestly should probably be a Birds of Paradise, but I've foiled out this deck and I have a foil Noble Hierarch, but not a foil Bird.

Reconnaissance would be an amazing include, but there's not a foil version :(.

I know that sounds silly considering I have Teferi Temporal Archmage and Deepglow skate in the deck, but those two are game winning where as things like Reconnaissance is just strictly good value for what the decks trying to do.

I had mentioned making a Najeela superfriends deck a while ago to a group that I followed and everyone said it was stupid. Turns out I was right and it works really well. Cudos man.

Have you considered Sword of Feast and Famine for infinite combat steps with your commander? The protection it gives makes it pretty solid in my opinion.

@pkdan Yes I have and it will definitely get added eventually.

This deck looks pretty fun, it seems to have a different way of doing things then mine does, but still gets the job done. Might I suggest Strionic Resonator since it would work well with a number of your planeswalkers as well as with your cmdr.
