On this site it automatically counts the general. You have 99 cards.

I just checked by adding up listed # of lands, artifacts, etc. and I have 100.

.... You are right. That is so weird. I just checked all of my decks and they come out to be 99 and then the site adds the general. Maybe they change it accordingly.

Hey, just wondering why you have no extra turn cards in your deck?
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/just-one-attack-is-all-it-takes/
Here is my Narset deck, have a look and see if you like what I've done. I have no planewalkers or board wipes, I've focused purely on extra combat phases and turns and pumping Narset up.
Since you are running P/W wouldn't Tamiyo, the Moon Sage be perfect for you, lock down your opponents and if you ult her you'd be returning all the extra combat phase cards to your hand

Counting on a planeswalker's ult isnt reliable. I would keep your deck how it is tbh... unless you want to add expensive cards.
October 9, 2014 7:34 a.m.
more expensive* ( not trying to make your deck sound bad )
October 9, 2014 7:35 a.m.
@Lloyd: I don't have any extra turn cards, and they are expensive. Plus things like the Boros Charm or Ajani's Presence work through extra combat phases but not extra turns so if I grab a board wipe I'm kinda boned or forced to exile it. Rogue's Passage has similar justification. Extra combat phases offer the same functionality as extra turns for Narset's purposes without the risk of losing one of my instant speed indestructibility cards. I also don't have to worry about a draw phase which can be useless when lands have been wiped.
I don't own Tamiyo, the Moon Sage either. Also that ult can be a tad risky just because I'm relying on having Omniscience on the field to be able to reuse most stuff and the goal is to cast things from the library rather than hand. My justification is more that I don't have her than anything else, however. I'd still gladly chuck a Jace aside for her.
Either way I don't want to be too walker reliant as that can burn you. I'd like to have walkers a part of what I do but not the big part.
I saw your build. It makes a lot of sense for you. What I like about Narset is that she has a lot of different routes that she can go unlike Zur who is kinda fixed with one thing. The "noncreature" clause means that you can do just about anything.

I do like the Smoke idea that you have in your deck. I don't know what I can chuck for it. But it feels made for narset especially with a Winter Orb as well.

Yeah Smoke is an awesome card!
The reason I use extra turns is because there are only so many extra combat spells in the game, having more of those increases the likelihood of hitting one, which is great! Plus the extra turns allow you to untap your lands to use cards that are in your hand, in case you drew a Seize the Day .
Have you thought about adding Leyline of Anticipation and Vedalken Orrery to allow you to enchant Narset before blockers are declared. You might pull a Indestructibility or a Holy Mantle with her ability
I like the idea of P/W in there as its just another obstacle the opponent has to deal with, but I cant imagine they stay around for long since you have no blockers but like you said, Narset can go any way you choose and her colours are so versatile. So glad they finally brought a good commander out for those colours, lets hope she's doesn't get banned as a commander :(

Great suggestions. I'll definitely need to grab myself copies of all 3. Leyline of Anticipation and Vedalken Orrery do get around some of the in combat problems. I'll have to think about what is worth removing to facilitate adding the 3. Right now the only one I can definitely see losing is The Chain Veil because I don't have enough walkers to make it more than situational. There are times I have it and Voltaic Key on the field at the same time that feels powerful - 3 loyalty abilities in 1 turn; but that doesn't make up for the amount of times it's a dead draw.
I really hope she isn't banned because she's such a fun Johnny commander with a high enough manacost that she isn't unbeatable. Even if she does, it will probably be a year out at least. And frankly, IMO if they let Zur in they should let her.

I think you're off to a good start! Our Narset builds are very different, but I think I can help you out a bit.You should look into other extra combat step cards that allow for more than one use. Seize the Day is a great start, but I'm a huge fan of Aggravated Assault , World at War , and Waves of Aggression .Mine is more equipment/voltron based, take a look if you like.
Also, I'm curious. How goes the mass land destruction shenanigans? In my playgroup, lando is severely frowned upon, so I haven't really pursued that direction yet.
October 24, 2014 12:24 a.m.
People don't like the LD but the mass is understood in this deck. I think people get more pissed off when I happen to sit on a winter orb and darksteel forge.
I already have World at War . Aggravated Assault and Waves of Aggression are on my radar, but a tad pricey for me atm. I'm hoping for a reprint on Aggravated Assault in commander 2014.

I also made a Narset deck. I works a lot more with storm so some of my cards aren't very relevant, but what I can say that after playtesting my deck, I found that Mind's Desire and Time Spiral are super fun to use with Narset regardless of the strategy. I hate shamelessly posting my deck on other people's decklists, but if your interested, I can supply you with the source.

Solid list man. I might take a couple of the cards you are using and put it into mind. Every solid overall!

mtgirem,
With all your Walkers, would it be worthwhile to run Call the Gatewatch?
Draw well!

I thought about it, but I'm not really too sold on a lot of the "into hand" tutors for narset. For starters, I don't get the free manacost.
Compare it to Fabricate which works because I have a lot of ramping and utility artifacts with cheap manacosts or something like Darksteel Plate to protect Narset. I can think of 10+ cards that, at the right time, can change my fortune with a fabricate tutor.
The walkers are more in the win-more function where they are just another threat on the field once I get them out.
Appreciate the feedback though.

mtgirem,
Oh derp, I hadn't even thought about how weak an into hand tutor is with Narset! Thanks for being polite in your response! :-)
As always, draw well!

Just removed out Cyclonic Rift . My understanding is that I can't play the alternative cost with narset.
