Sideboard

I've learned to love Anticipate ; it is a great, cheap spell to help me cycle through this deck at instant speed to help me get what I need when I need it.

After much editing and experimenting, I've chosen a more control approach centered around Dragonlord Ojutai , with Reflector Mage and Linvala, the Preserver playing supporting roles.

Narset Transcendent plays a huge role in all this too; she is a threat to be reckoned with as a 4-drop planeswalker with 6 loyal counters, not to mention a potential win-con with her ultimate. Her +1 helps my card draw and her -2 option helps my deck-cycling; casting a back-to-back Anticipate or Dig Through Time can be the deciding factor in overwhelming the board with control. Also, Ojutai's Command is another useful option for her -2, especially because of the flexibility of options.

The recent addition of Gideon, Ally of Zendikar has been paramount; he allows for an even stronger board presence, as well as a potential finisher with his +1 ability.

The counters and removal spells are equally essential to this deck's success. The variety of both allows me to counter and/or remove my opponent's spells early and often. Testing and tinkering through play is constant and changes are made accordingly.

In one particular match, utilizing my sideboard options against an aggro deck, I withstood an initial onslaught that had me at 1 life and him 20...with me winning with control after 4 swings of Ojutai while countering the single spells he tried to cast.
