This started off as a budget deck that built from cards included in Entropic Uprising, Plunder the Graves, and Guided by Nature.

Then all upgrades have been to increase the discard and elf synergy.

Basically the point of the deck is to play politics with hand sizes, build an elf army, and out-value opponents. Since most of the creatures are cheap to play, the big payoffs are in the form of some good planeswalkers that provide value or synergize with the main theme of the deck.

Main win-cons are Throne of the God-Pharaoh, Vraska ult, Eldrazi Monument, Torment of Hailfire, or just playing out creatures and removal that your opponents can't answer because they have no hand.

There are plenty of cards in this deck that you don't really need to make it run if you want to have a budget build. Just don't get any of the expensive lands or any creature over $2. So many of the cool discard-synergy cards are under $2. Only real expensive necessary card is Anvil of Bogardan because it's reserved list and functions too well with this deck.
