Naya Aggro (2nd Place FNM)

Standard FNM RGW (Naya)

warpman

Sideboard

Hello Hello. So this is currently the deck I'm using for FNM. It was originally supposed to be a Naya Token Generator Deck focused on Purphoros, but that didn't work so I decided to move onto the next best thing: Aggro.

This deck has beaten all of the "Meta Decks" but has also lost to them. It isn't a perfect deck but it does confuse people because this deck is so reliant on Combat tricks. Swing and just leave two mana open and the possibilities are endless.

So I decided to take this deck into FNM (I have taken this deck into other FNM's before but not with this precise decklist, I had more populate in those ones). My end result was going 3-1 with about 18 people attending.

First Round: 2-0 against Esper Control - My first time playing Esper control with this deck and I felt pretty confidant. Match 1 was over in 5 minutes, opponent azorious charmed on my turn and then dissolved my solider with voice of resurgence on the field. BIG NO NO. Match two went relatively fast, he couldn't deal with my boon satyr and experiment one.

2nd Round: 2-1 against Dimir Control - First time ever playing dimir control even though I know what it looks like. Match 1 went to him, turn 3 ashiok, and constant exiling of creatures and land, couldn't do anything. Match 2 and 3 were completely identical, he got stuck on 4 mana, and i overpowered him with my creatures.

3rd Round: 1-2 against Naya Midrange - Lost to first place at least. Match 1 went by in 2 minutes, kept a one lander after mulling to 5. Saw no land after. Match 2 went to me, same scenario, he kept a one lander after mulling to 6, swamped him with my creatures. Match 3 lasted too long for me, he had 3 stormbreath on the field, had no response to that.

4th Round: 2-1 against Esper Control - Battle for 2nd place. Match 1 went to my opponent, used detention sphere on my creatures early and the sphinx's for 5 made me concede. Match 2 went to me after they got stuck on 3 mana, only casted a hero's downfall the entire match. Match 3 had my highlight of the night. My friend told me about how skullcrack negates the effect of protection. They had a blood baron, I had a voice token that was a 1/1, I swung, they block, bloodrushed, and then skullcrack for the win.

In the end, I found that this deck surprised me on how it can handle control. Only problem is that it doesn't handle mono-black or red very well.
