This deck features two main themes: dragons and +1/+1 counters.

It's inspired by a combo: Gleam of Battle and any of the Tarkir 'Creatures with a +1/+1 counter gains...' creatures. As Gleam required red mana, I thought I might as well combine this with another deck idea: dragons. When Fate Reforged and Dragons of Tarkir came out, I decided to feature them more strongly by including Dromoka dragons. Lately, I was given the advice to either focus on big creatures or a lot of creatures. This gave me the idea to give the deck a transformative sideboard: the mainboard features dragons, while the sideboard can transform it into a token deck. Additionally, it can be transformed into a lifegain deck.

In (token): 3 Cathars' Crusades, 2 Assemble the Legions, 3 Mycoloth.
