Sideboard

Maybeboard

I love me some hexproof, so I thought I would switch out black for red and see where this goes. Well, I guess this turned out to be pretty sweet, ran 3-1 tonight at FNM and got 4th place, which for me is a victory. My one loss was really my fault, kept a hand with not non-defender creatures and just couldnt draw into one. Played mostly G/x variants, G/R monsters, mono green devotion, green/white aggro, etc. Seems to be the big thing atm, which Im fine with, since its easier for me to race then rather than looking down the barrel of a Supreme Verdict. Another card I (thankfully) never saw is Devour Flesh or Celestial Flare with typically throw a wrench into my plans. Excited to see whats in store for game day. Playing both on Saturday and Sunday.

As for the deck itself, it runs beautifully. As a rule I like having 2 creatures on the field at any given time, (bad memories of Devour Flesh) so ideally T1 Gladecover Scout/ T2 Sylvan Caryatid, T3 Witchstalker T4 throw on Unflinching Courage and Ethereal Armor and swing in 7 lifelink. A beautiful interaction is once you have 4/5 mana up, bloodrush with Ghor-Clan Rampager and then give your guy doublestrike with either Boros Charm or Ajani, Caller of the Pride . Another useful card, if you are fearing Celestial Flare is in the use of Blood . Managed to get a killing blow in tonight with it.

Sideboard is a bit in shambles, could use some suggestions please. Must say, Loxodon Smiter pulled some work for me tonight, put him in against all the monster decks to add a bigger body and maybe help block, he did wonders.

Updates Add

So with the coming of Journey Into Nyx, I am going to be switching out the Sylvan Caryatid for the new Bassara Tower Archer. Also, in the sideboard, I am adding 2 Glare of Heresy to handle Godsend since that really screws with my hexproof. Along with that, I am adding a singe Deicide in case of gods, as well as a single Unravel the Aether. My reasoning for this is all 4 of these cards are capable of removing white gods, 2 of them are capable of removing any god, and 3 of them are capable of removing Godsend, whom I might be fearing maybe a little too much? To make room, I removed Savage Summoning since I havent had to use it hardly, might be a mistake, but we'll see. I also removed Pithing Needle. Its a great card in against control, but it usually finds itself under a D-Sphere.
