I've been playing R/G Monsters for a long while now and what I have learned about the deck from extensive hours of play is that it loses to control very consistently. Supreme Verdict has been my downfall with this deck countless times. My goal with my R/G Monsters deck was to make a less midrange version of the R/G meta deck that is often played at opens and Pro Tours. I figured that if i could make the deck fast then I could beat the mirror match and the control decks couldn't keep up (If you want to see this deck here is the link Overwhelming Power. Well the mirror match was normally pretty easy to beat, but control was still a problem. I figured that switching to Naya may be my way to beat those dreaded control decks. With Naya I get to add Boros Charm and Fleecmane Lion to take care of supreme verdict and so that I can use an instant speed double-strike instead of the sorcery speed Armed . I also get to utilize the new Ajani, Mentor of Heroes, which in my eyes is a better Garruk, Caller of Beasts. I say this because Ajani can dig for damn near everything, give counters to all my creatures (except Stormbreath Dragon), and for giggles I can gain 100 life! Feel free to leave suggestions for the deck!
