Unfortunately Death's Shadow still gets the -x-x because that isn't from counters so melira can't prevent it. Otherwise that would be disgusting.

Those would not work in this deck because those aren't counters

I'm with hazphokksy on this one. I'd throw in Vines of Vastwood or similar combat tricks that enable Necroskitter to survive and steal a bigger creature in a heartbeat. Also, Dash Hopes is very unreliable.
What do you play as a sideboard? If you don't have one, it'd be interesting to make one.

not sure how it'll work, but I think Kulrath Knight can help, especially with Black Sun's Zenith

I have another question: do you plan on making this deck tournament competitive? If you do, it's a long road but might improve the feedback you get.
Whether or not you do, I'd suggest replacing Night's Whisper slots with hand disruption (probably Inquisition of Kozilek) or Vines of Vastwood. Here's why: Whisper works best in combo decks, not midrange ones. If you can afford it, you really want to play Dark Confidant in some other slots (maybe creature ones) if you want card advantage.
Inquisition and Vines can both save you, but Vines can also help you win. The way Vines can save you, which most people don't know, is that it can be played unkicked on an opponent's creature to counter any pump spells or auras played on that creature that turn. This is VERY good against, say, Splinter Twin, Boggles, and Infect decks. Your matchup may be good against infect, but if you don't have Melira online, Vines can buy you a crucial turn. Hope this helps! :D

For me Kulrath Knight is a nice way to stall out the board and create an opening for all those creatures you're stealing, or a big fattie like Grave Titan, to swing without fear if somebody takes out part or all of the Melira, Sylvok Outcast + Everlasting Torment combo. In playtesting my own necroskitter deck that has been the biggest problem, which is why im running Maelstrom Pulse and Naturalize in my sideboard for all the inevitable turn 4/5 oblivion rings ive been seeing around the kitchen table.

Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon might be a viable alterative to grave titan. It's more resilient (regeneration), also makes an impact when it hits the board (if you have mana for haste), and combos well with the deck's -1/-1 counter theme. Carnifex Demon is another alternative that works well with the deck's theme, although it's not as efficient as Skittles or the titan. Finally, I don't know if it's powerful enough for modern but Skinrender seems like a good 2-for-1 in this deck that combos well with your other themes. Like the idea, +1 from me!

Glistening Oil makes for a great combo with Melira, Sylvok Outcast and/or Crumbling Ashes.

Oh... maybe think of Flourishing Defenses. It is not the fastest card, but it would get you tokens like crazy!
