Ok Weirdhat super tech overload coming your way. Let me know if anything catches your eye.

Geth's Grimoire can add that extra dig we need to combo.

Ivory Tower to keep us alive longer?

Mindmoil for more digging.

Rhystic Study could possible be good.

Anvil of Bogardan is a cheap way to possibly help push some extra damage through.

Wipe Away bounce a problem permanent.

Copy Artifact can replace a weaker mana rock.

Jace's Archivist can go ultimate with Mind Over Matter

Runeflare Trap ???

Fade Away can be a nice board sweeper.

Anything look worth while?

Geth's Grimoire , Mindmoil , and Copy Artifact are very much worth trying. the problem I had with Jace's Archivist was that you had to wait a rotation to use it, but it might still be worth trying.

I don't like Mindmoil as it when you play a spell not "target player" or "whenever any player"but then again I'm not running anything that deals damage from ME drawing cards like Psychosis Crawler they all trigger off the other guy drawing like well nekusar himself lol

The Idea of cards like Runeflare Trap is that opponents have lots of cards in hand. This deck doesn't give opponents lots of cards. It creates massive card advantage for you while giving everyone else marginal advantages. which makes those types of cards marginally good at best.

Mindmoil lets you dig deeper for more wheels. I'm not really worried about whether or not it deals damage. It's more of a "enabler" to keep our combo going. Runeflare Trap IS too situational, but I figured why not ask about it. Lol

Ok then in that respect it's good however I'd suggest trying to get a Scroll Rack so you can put a choice card or 6 on top of your library in response to having to put your hand on bottom, just a thought you mite feel it's to slow for your deck (I don't use mine in my nekusar deck but you mite like it)

September 3, 2014 3:11 p.m.

I tested it and it seemed like it wanted to play like Library of Leng instead of a draw card. I also didn't like the fact that if you don't have a wheel, and was using scroll rack to dig, you re-draw back into a hand without a wheel.

Library of Leng is a possibility, I haven't really tested it.

September 3, 2014 4:11 p.m.

Library is nice in the sense that when you cast a wheel with more than one in hand, you can just top the remaining wheels and re-draw back in to them.

Do you think that Library of Leng is a cheaper version of Mindmoil , in the sense thy they both are aiming to keep wheels in your hand?

Weirdhat I think we're at te point where we need to talk less about what's good and more what's been lackluster... Cutting a single card has been a 15-30 min. process followed by the sweet soothing brewer's headache. Lol

what do you want to put in?

Reset comments? Im tired of scrolling for 10 min to get down here lol

Weirdhat you were asking what I wanted to add in... Basically anything from the maybe board. Some things are obviously weaker than others, but you've got a good idea of what works and what doesn't. Lol. Ideas?

Well I promote both Clutch of the Undercity and Perplex as main board they are answers and tutors. Copy Artifact could go mainboard. There is only one other two mana artifact that doesn't enter tapped that isn't on the mainboard and that is Prismatic Lens . Cerebral Vortex is a great sideboard against decks without counter magic of any kind. Sigil of Sleep is a good sideboard against creature dependent decks. The sideboard probably should be filled with cheap counter spells for combo decks that are faster. Why are you considering Anger ?

I'd say to discard giving everything haste?

September 4, 2014 1:30 p.m.

Considering anger and the haste equipments for Niv- Mizzet. I find it awkward digging for caress, megrim, and waste not sgainst control deck with lots of removal.

I'm not the biggest fan of Prismatic Lens because I've got better colorless rocks. Actually, after thinking about it, Copy Artifact may not be that great. It only adds mana of colors you already have, not colors you could potentially need. Although I all you new is a few more mana when your set on your colors then it could be great. Thoughts?

Copy your moxes or copy your opponents Blightsteel Colossus

I like Copy Artifact it definitely deserves some testing at the least. Say your against my sydri deck and I get out my Mycosynth Lattice /Darksteel Forge synergy. You could have your own forge for 2 mana. and that's just 1 scenario.

September 4, 2014 3:22 p.m.

It just, if your opponents make it to Blightsteel Colossus against this build, I feel like you've done something VERY wrong.

Same scenario with the sydri cards. We haven't play tested against this build, but I feel like I ramp much, much harder than most decks... Even better than most green decks out there. With that in mind it should also be very difficult to tutor correctly against me, so finding lattice and forge should be kinda hard to do.

The main reason for me wanting to test it was to replace one of my weaker mana rocks. But seeing as a lot of cards are uu in this deck, it can limit the number of blue spells you play in a turn. But in the end it's a mana rock with extra value, so it could be worth a shot.

I'm thinking maybe trim Pentad Prism since you can only use it twice, Fellwar Stone because it's usually just a mono colored/colorless mana rock, or Mind Stone but at least it can potentially turn into a cantrip. What do you guys think?

Well in my defence, there is something called Arcum Dagsson lol. but it does seem like Copy Artifact would almost always want to be a mana rock. But it does have the added utility of being ANY artifact out.

September 4, 2014 3:47 p.m.

Looking to add in Clutch of the Undercity , Perplex , and Mind Over Matter but I'm having trouble cutting cards. Maybe one of you guys have suggestions for what looks weak and could be cut?

September 6, 2014 4:02 p.m.

Weirdhat says... #22

Pentad Prism is great be a use it ramps for two mana the next turn if used to its fullest. Only the once but when you are trying to win quickly that isn't to significant. When you are sifting through your deck this filters red and black for blue which is awesome. Marketing it relevant at all stages of the game practically. If you want to see a scary green ramp deck check out a competitively tuned Maelstrom Wanderer deck it's pretty scary. Reiterate can possibly come out for Clutch of the Undercity . Have thought about Turnabout

September 7, 2014 1:30 p.m.

I saw that you were testing turn about. How are byou likening it so far? It may be more mana intensive, but, How do you like Cryptic Command ? one mode on the card does almost the same thing, but it Doesn't lock lands down... But I guess it could counter the threat that they're gonna play? Lol

Mystic Remora might be a better alternative to using Rhystic Study (which I noticed is in the maybeboard). Sure it might not stick around as long, but it's cheaper to cast. In a competitive meta where everyone's playing spells to help set up their win condition, it can net you a fair amount of cards before the upkeep cost becomes too demanding. Of course, it all depends on what's in your meta, but it's something to consider and worth playtesting.

September 12, 2014 12:44 a.m.

Read in a forum that some people were having success with their storm decks saying that playing High Tide in 3 colors wasn't that bad against their mana, and gave them access to more alternate casting cost cards. (Of course all of this goes with changing a number of lands to islands.) So a few card ideas/options were thrown in the maybe board. Anyone played a high tide/storm variant with any success? Looking or help in what cards were good for you and was cards seem lackluster.

I'm trying to make chaining wheels to storm out more consistent. If i deal a large amount of damage without going lethal, then I essentially mark myself as then biggest threat at the table. Which obviously makes closing the game MUCH harder... So any and all ideas on then high tide cards/ closing the game in one turn is appreciated.
