I don't like that too much. Seems very situational. I've thought about Forbidden Orchard ... But idk how many decks can utilize the token. My friend's prossh deck slams Purphoros, God of the Forge quite often. So there's that interaction that can make the land bad. Thoughts?

Grand Coliseum ? Granted it ETB tapped but it taps for colorless and colored for only 1 life

I agree with Mana Confluence over Tarnished Citadel .
@PrestonShilling Haha, here are my few changes :
out : Basalt Monolith Candelabra of Tawnos Geth's Grimoire Grim Monolith Turnabout Flusterstorm Temporal Fissure
in : Whirlpool Warrior , Sigil of Sleep => at least one creature hate main deck you can tutor for, Fate Unraveler => main deck, it's our commander with 4 mana cost black colored, it does the same stuff when nekusar is too hated, Mind Over Matter and Temple Bell package, I find both good alone (Temple Bell when associated with Curiosity likes) and together they combo, Cyclonic Rift , and the Brainstorm -like cards to maintain a bit of sustainability.
I'm also trying Gemstone Caverns :p

out also : Notion Thief Treasonous Ogre Skirge Familiar Copy Artifact Dream Halls and Medaillons
I suppose our differences are due to your storm-oriented version :)

I dont like Whirlpool Warrior
because of the ETB effect I could be wrong however. I have been back and forth about Fate Unraveler
but eventually decided against the card because if nekusar is locked down then she will just die as well. what have you got against Treasonous Ogre
Waroulolz that cards is awesome. the others are iffy because they are a bit situational.

When talking about Fate Unraveler "if Nekusar is locked down, she will just die too." What scenario are you talking about?
September 30, 2014 6:18 p.m.
I mean, Fate Unraveler is your general-like, he can be better in some cases (mana color independent, you can T1 Dark Ritual into it and speed the game) and he is a backup plan for when you'll have to pay 5 + 10 to play nekusar :), at least an alternative.
Treasonous Ogre can be great, but I feel like I don't need him. I have enough red mana boosters and, at least in my meta, HP is a pretty important ressource that I can't use as I want.
Whirlpool Warrior I really like it. Play your important stuff, keep garbage, play it, if u got good stuff play it, then sac and go infinite. ETB effet just gives your garbage hand a second chance before going crazy. That's how I feel it :)

Fate Unraveler is redundant , which may or may not be a bad thing. Do you want to have several pain effects out or always have back up? Then She is the card to put in. However I don't think it's necessary to have back up or extra pain. Recursive creature hate makes dedicating a card slot to her less good. In my opinion Nekusar, the Mindrazer is all you need.

I'm beginning to wonder if adding the storm tech that I craved so much, is moving backwards and slowing the deck down. I was trying to turn the soft combo of chaining wheels together into an infinite combo that's more resilient to removal, counters, and creature theft abilities. What do you think, is trying to help the combo turn actually slowing me down or was I correct in trying to improve the resiliency and make it less of a glass cannon?
October 10, 2014 3:13 p.m.
the thing is that the storm works best when nekusar is suited up. it works but it goes most bonkers off the nekusar voltron filling your hand after the one wheel or rotation. or when you are being controlled on board really hard but you aren't going to die soon and you have time to construct a hand to go off on. that is what I have found. Its best to only have one storm card in the deck because its a dead draw and when you get to the point where you have a big storm count there is something to cast Tendrils of Agony with.
October 10, 2014 3:59 p.m.
if you want hard support for the storm I would find room for Past in Flames maybe.

Maybe play test a few hands and see if my list is too slow? I like the storm tech because I can still kill the table if Nekusar gets tucked or his general tax becomes too high without changing my strategy or digging for a black enchantment.
One storm card could be correct, but killing three opponents with tendrils seems like quite a feat.

I guess my big question is, is the storm cards more of a "win more" when you've already got all the right things going for you or am I trying to force something to work because I want it to?
October 10, 2014 4:49 p.m.
It's possible I've done it, but not after some pain with nekusar. Plus with the amount of ramp it is ez to pump him out like two or three extra times. I haven't tested your tech so everything I say is theoretical.

Enter the Infinite would kill me. I couldn't cast wheels...Grapeshot seems like it would be extremely underwhelming. As unfun as Omniscience seems, it's probably deserves a slot in the 110... Side boarded over Anger

@ Weirdhat after Revisiting High Tide with only 6 islands, shock, and duals; it's like a Dark Ritual /Cabal Ritual effect and some games it's more broken. How do you feel about it after knowing that only a slight change in mana it becomes, at worst, a ritual.
October 18, 2014 9:50 a.m.
It's worth it then, if that's all the support it needs. This deck wants a lot of mana makers.
October 20, 2014 5:50 p.m.
I just don't like Basalt Monolith, just don't. thinking about Skull of Ramos and the other two
December 3, 2014 7:50 p.m.
how are the medallions lackluster? what cards are you thinking about instead of them? Mystic Remora and Rhystic Study are a bit to laid back for this kind of a deck. you could go back to the cheap card drawers like Brainstorm you have got all the fetchlands. i dont think the medallions should be taken out mostly because they cost two mana.

I just feel like unless I'm chaining spells together, they're not really pulling their weight. They seem to mostly sit there, where I feel like something that actually taps for mana could be better...I was considering swapping them out for their diamond counterparts?
Also you mentioned some skull of something or another for basalt monolith? I was considering Gilded Lotus? Thoughts?

I definitely recommend Liliana's Caress, Megrim, Phyresis, Reliquary Tower, Psychosis Crawler, Jace's Archivist, Liliana Vess, Cyclonic Rift, Prosperity, Skyscribing, Dictate of Kruphix, Elder Mastery, Underworld Dreams, Well of Ideas, Howling Mine, Mindcrank, Crumbling Necropolis, Strip Mine, Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, and the Temples. Sorry for the long list! Building a Nekusar deck currently and these cards have been amazing!

In that case I might recommend Exotic Orchard as an alternative, I still feel that Tarnished Citadel is too costly. Orchard can produce colorless if your opponent has different colors, and can produce the color of your choice otherwise if they share one.
