Splinterfright can be targeted by Sun Titan and has pretty good interaction with the gv and like what eitav said Kessig Cagebreakers is great as well

Play this in limited, so fun. I would add Spider Spawning as alt win condition for sure.

Wouldn't Merfolk Looter or Civilized Scholar Flip Flip do more than the Mesmerist? Yeah the Mesmerist mills an extra card but the other two let you choose what you mill. Sometimes I'd rather draw a Splinterfright and discard something else, than mill the spliterfright and be forced to have to recur him later.

Merfolk looter is definitely a better choice. Thanks!
As for kessig cagebreakers, i think its better than splinter, so its probably gonan replace it

Splinterfright does not belong in this deck. From playtesting, it always was a 1/1 or getting exiled to play a Skaab Ruinator. I think you need more creatures to be honest. I really don't like Armored Skaab in this deck for some reason. I would definitely add more creatures. Big hitters like Elesh Norn, Frost Titan, etc. would help I think. Mindshrieker may even have a home in this deck.

Also, I agree with the Civilized Scholar Flip Flip for a big hitter, as well as Kessig Cagebreakers. I would maybe run 1 or 2 less Skaab Ruinators simply because I found myself in a bind to play them because I would usually end up exiling 2 phantasmal image and another Ruinator just to play him

If your Splinter was a 1/1 you weren't playing the deck right.
Civilized Scholar is bad. Gut shot, geistflame, anyone tap deal one effect instantly kills it.
I will take your advice on dropping a ruinator, and probably find more things to take out to add some other creature.
Splinterfright however is staying in. It's never been anything less than a 5/5 for me in MY playtests.
My only problem is getting the mill going
Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the same feel but speed up milling?

This is a very cool deck, although I think it needs a few more creatures. How about take out 2 spells for 2 snapcasters? Seems like it would help out with this deck. Maybe add doomblade or something as well. Sun Titan + Snapcaster is just stupid.

wayyyy too much ramp imonot enough low costing creaturesget some zombies you can revive and stuff

Have you treied playtesting with some solemn simulacrums? Helps fetch your colors, and give advantage when it hits and leaves teh field, while simultaneously ramping you justr like you want to do with all your ramp spells and it gives you another recursion target/phantasmal image target. the card advantage you gain from playing one simulacruma dn copying it with an image just to block with both, draw 2 cards, and then drop a sun titan for getting back your image and maybe even splinterfright or something is ridiculously ludicrous lol.\

Skaab Ruinator imo is counter productive to the theme of the deck.

Also, is there truly only one reanimation spell in standard?

@coleman984
There are a few reanimation abilities in standard but the rites are really the only good one. Some others include:
I guess Snapcaster Mage deserves a mention becuase it can enable you to flashback an already used Unburial Rites, Postmortem Lunge, or Gruesome Encore. Gruesome Encore is so close to being the second reanimation spell that we need. Oh well, hopefully Dark Ascension is good to us. I've got my fingers crossed for a reprint of Victimize .
