With the prevalence of mono-blue devotion at its weakest, I thought I'd try to give it new life with an alternative deceitful blue variant.

Initially, it will look like mostly like the traditional mono-blue devotion, except, that for some reason it's mainboarding Mindreaver over Tidebinder Mage . Mindreaver is considered one of the worst rares in the Theros Block, and for good reason, but he's there, because he counts as 2 blue devotion, and the sideboard transforms this deck into a mill deck.

Mainboard, opponents will see hints of mill from Dakra Mystic , Mindreaver , and Nightveil Specter. After sideboard, you will have Phenax, God of Deception and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver. If the opponent is green, you will most likely want to sideboard in Tidebinder Mage . In addition, include doom blade & silence the believers for the creatures with protection from blue ( Mistcutter Hydra , Skylasher ).

The other prominent feature to this new blue brew is that it utilizes the new Strive cards. The main intention is for master of waves to put as many elemental tokens, and to transform them into something much more versatile; usually 4/4 flying sphinxs through Hour of Need , but can also use Polymorphous Rush into something other. It uses Battlefield Thaumaturge as a catalyst for these strive cards.
