What is Baby Boomers?
Baby Boomers is the newest MTG format that is sweeping the nation. The rules are much the same as the beloved EDH and Tiny Leaders format, but allows for even easier to build decks and faster games
Faster than Tiny Leaders?! "How?" you ask. Well, Baby Boomers consists of a 25 card deck, players start with 10 life, and all cards must have a CMC of 1!
Baby boomers follows the typical rules of Commander type play, the main difference being your commander can be ANY 1 drop. Like EDH/TL, all colors in the creatures casting cost and abilities attribute to its color identity.
There are a few additional difference in the format. First, each time your commander is cast from the command zone, it costs 1 colorless more to cast, rather than the traditional 2 in EDH and TL. Also, the starting and maximum hand size is reduced to 5 cards.
So far there is no official banned list, but there are almost certainly be cards that make the list. Cards like Goblin Guide and Vexing Devil are probably too fast and powerful. However, if you look, you'll find there is plenty of one drop support or removal in all colors that can stop them. More testing and feedback from players will ultimately determine what is too powerful in the format and needs to be banned.
So start brewing!
