TheFoilAjani: alright! let me know when. Do you wanna be on the modern side? or do you wanna be on the legacy side?

Please tell me what you think if you play test those decks.

I used a U/w (more like mono blue) delver deck from innistrad/rtr block. Ajani used the elkin bottle challenge deck. He was very much able to lock me out with winter orb both games. If he used his cards better and tapped his lands more efficiently, he would've swooped me. But instead of bolting my Delver of Secrets  Flip, he chose to play Winter Orb and he lost cause I had a Runechanter's Pike attached with a buttload of cards in my grave. If he sacced one of his lands, he could've bolted delver and played winter orb while I was tapped out. Which would've given him tons of time to control the board and either mill me out or burn me out. All in all, I do not want to fight against Icy Manipulator + Winter Orb . We did however only test one deck. We might try again. Some other time when we're both available.

Long story short, it came down to piloting errors. If a player mastered the deck he's playing, there is no reason why he couldn't sweep a tourney.

This sounds like an awesome idea! The perfect place between Standard and Modern. Quick question though: are Core Sets also legal in their Standard rotations?

Is there like a handy site to check which blocks were once standard together with the core sets?

AwesomeName says... #10

Yeah, TheFoilAjani made a spreadsheet here that shows all of the standards.

And yes, core sets are definitely legal ;)

How do you guys think Mono Devotion (THS//RTR) would do in this format? I know it was fast for its own Standard back in the day, but does it compete with other Standards? I built a mock list on my profile for reference.

@bananamaniaman Cool, that's good.

JDMCRIB: I don't know how it will compete, but you can always make the deck and test it against other peoples standard decks. We generally use the platform untap.in.

You should make a list of decks that people have played in tournaments in the description. It would give new players in the format an idea of what people are playing.

We have a spreadsheet with the links to Everyones lists... I came in second with RB Ball lightnings in the last tourni. Lost to AwesomeName's UB faeries.

I'm just saying it'd probably be helpful for a list to be on this page as a category.

i think the needs adjustment, because the shards of alara- m11 is to overpowerd. It feels like modern with goblin guide, noble hierarch and wild nacatl forming a zoo deck. It also has llanowar elves, arbor elf, and leatherback behemoth, and garruks companion making stompy, which can also cut shards and add scars of mirrodin to make it better. I believe noble hierach and wild nactacl should be banned.

also ban bloodbraid elf

It doesn't need an adjustment until tested. In the Tourni, Most of us came to the conclusion that Lorwyn - M10 (shards standard) was the most powerful. there were around 5 decks out of 8 from that period, Including my RB Ball lightnings that came in second and AwesomeName's UB faeries that won.

If you think you have something thats busted, try it out! Build a deck and participate in events and if its actually that broken, then bannings will be made. Same with BBE... Not broken until tested.
