Knight Exemplar, Savageborn Hydra, Kruin Outlaw  ^Flip, Student of Warfare all seem like strong creature choices.

Knight Exemplar might be a decent choice, the rest are too much mana sinks. The problem is for example that Shriekmaw, or Gatekeeper of Malakir especially ruins the knight. The werewolf were never really flip unless you do not cast a spell, which means you did not play another Kruin Outlaw  ^Flip either.

Fair, but then again Shriekmaw is really, really good. Most of the cards on the list lose to it, unless they're black. Same with gatekeeper. The rest of the choices are decent against creature decks that don't double as removal.

Also of note, just looking through the board, Nyxathid can't win unless your opponents either dumb or playing the all 1 drop noncreature spell deck, dump their hand, and haven't killed you by the time you get to 6 mana.
