Ahhh, missed the nonland part. For the best, though, as 60x Mishra's Workshop would be damn strong.

...and I spent half an hour clicking through cards again...

There's nothing really playable with Kinship besides the cards already suggested (Wolf-Skull Shaman, Kithkin Zephyrnaut).

I had hoped for there to be a neat "when you cycle..." card, but most of them have negligible effects. Three of the Sojouners, Bant Sojourners, Esper Sojourners, and Jund Sojourners, have not terrible effects, but are still too slow. Gempalm Strider could work, though.

Looking through cycling cards also reminded me of the -blade cycle: Bant Sureblade, Esper Stormblade, Grixis Grimblade, Jund Hackblade, and Naya Hushblade. Since they're turned on by your other -blades, they could see play. Probably not the Hushblade though.

I also realized that a planeswalker can be your one card... but most of them have little to no effect when they enter the battlefield, and the best ones are four drops or above. Sorin, Lord of Innistrad and Elspeth, Knight-Errant each make tokens. Meanwhile, Garruk, Primal Hunter and Nissa, Worldwaker make bigger beats... but they're five drops. I can't see any planeswalker being competitive, unfortunately.

Biovisionary... will probably not be viable either, as it's a T6 win at the earliest.

Also, I'm free right now to test if anyone else is.

Almost forgot: looking at Miracles, Bonfire of the Damned or Entreat the Angels look possible.

I just realized I can't test either: I have to get ready for FNM.

Bonfire of the Damned is possible, but I wouldn't be too confident about it.

Entreat the Angels might be plausible, but definitely slow.

You are correct in saying that planeswalkers aren't viable.

The -blades cards are sadly less than impressive.

Not sure how Mishra's Workshop would even win. You probably meant to say Mishra's Factory.

Fiery Gambit looks nice at first, but then you realize it HAS to have a creature target, or the whole spell fizzles.

Zendikons only return the lands themselves, which by your wording I'm not sure is what you meant by "can be reused"

@-Logician: Meant to say the Factory, sorry. Had the Workshop on the brain after the holiday promo was revealed. I was thinking that Bant Sureblade would at least be good against Soldier of the Pantheon... but I thought the Soldier had protection from red, not multicolored... -_-

@Euraxus: Most decks are creature decks, and Fiery Gambit itself is basically a random fun card that requires insane luck to win with. I took another look at Corrupted Zendikon and realized my mistake: Genju of the Fields and the like bounce themselves, but Zendikons bounce the lands. Geez, I'm missing a lot of things...

How about Black Sun's Zenith? How many creature strategies does it beat?

Well after my long break, I'd like to start off with saying. Bump in the night, needs to be checked for Banlist. It's a turn 3 win (Just like lightning bolt.) The only dif is that it cant kill creatures. It can however eventually out lifegain, since it has flashback, if given the time. Black sun Zenith works, but it's slow , looses to most lords, and is basicly a "Trade" deck (as I've come to call them.) Since you really dont win, you just stall for turn victory and trade decks.

clueless-Black Sun's Zenith can't win, and it's too slow to handle all the tribal creatures like Lord of Atlantis and Champion of the Parish

December 8, 2014 3:54 p.m.

clueless says... #10

Frayace: Black Sun's Zenith beats Soldier of the Pantheon, Baleful Strix, True-Name Nemesis, Spectral Procession etc. It loses hard to hasty creatures. Are you sure it loses to lords and Champion of the Parish? It probably does because it's so slow, but it can grind away over multiple turns due to giving counters and not just til end of turn so I would want to playtest.

How would Profane Command do? Having them lose life and also killing creatures? or too slow? Also Thunderous Wrath is fast (though only one per turn), and Lone Missionary may seem feasible

December 8, 2014 9:24 p.m.

andrew8281 says... #13

Also 60x Chancellor of the Spires loses entirely to things like Spark Elemental

December 8, 2014 9:29 p.m.

-Logician says... #14

Thunderous Wrath is also inconsistent, and only once per turn.

3good5me says... #15

its still a turn 4 win as long as you dont draw any other lands

Black Sun's Zenith is easy to beat. Black Sun's Zenith is prety good sweeper against many decks, but not so good spot removal. It's beaten by same waya that sweepecs are beaten in other formats: just do not simply overextend.

December 9, 2014 12:51 a.m.

Colgate says... #17

Thunderous Wrath is turn 5 win at earliest unless opponent plays Dark Confidant ond manages to reveal at least 3 bobs.

Only deck, that would win Chancellor of the Dross is Soul Spike and Soul Spike is horrible deck.

December 9, 2014 2:42 a.m.

excaliber213 says... #21

wouldm't 60x Chancellor win via 21 damage on first upkeep?

December 9, 2014 10:10 a.m.

Skullman571 says... #22

It would that's why its banned. Also after doing a bit of my own testing i think virulent sliver was unrightfully banned. It may have. Poison, having multiple of them does not cause poison to stack so on turn 3 the best it can do is 2 poison counters, which is the equivalent of 4 damage. Turn 4 it would deal 3, and could only win on turn 6, since it has no haste. And thats only if gone unblocked.

December 9, 2014 10:40 a.m.

Frayace says... #23

Skullman571-Virulent Sliver's poisonous 1 is cumulative, like all sliver abilities, it's the first gatherer ruling.
The same goes for stuff like Flanking and +1/+1.

Skullman571 says... #24

Your right my bad, i mistakened it for being the same as infect.

December 9, 2014 6:52 p.m.

IQuarent says... #25

502.69b If a creature has multiple instances of poisonous, each triggers separately.

So if a 3 Virulent Slivers were out, all slivers would have:

Poisonous 1, Poisonous 1, Poisonous 1

Each would trigger whenever combat damage would be dealt.

It should stay banned.

Might consider just banning Infect as a mechanic if it becomes problematic.
