  1. You should clear the comments.

  2. I really can't decide between Hedron Crab and Signal Pest....I'm an aggro player and both are really fast, so this is hard for me.

Hornet Nest may be viable, but it requires the opponent to use a creature without flying, horsemanship, shadow, or protection from green.

hjifghl suggested Hornet Nest

itisme282 suggested Ruthless Ripper

hafnera suggested Slitherhead

I like all of those suggestions. :) I think Hornet nest would be weird because your opponent wouldn't even want to attack into it, but I think it could definitely see some action.

I don't know why my other comments didn't show up.

I had meant to also say that Ruthless Ripper was interesting as it had two functional mana costs, and deathtouch was viable against lord strategies, but loses to first strike, which is a slowing growning part of the metagame.

Slitherhead looks good on the surface, but only really shines against mill in my opinion.

Platinum Angel would be banned in this format along with Platinum Emperion. but in order for something to be banned it has to be played a lot in the format.

So Surging Flame should be banned...

Ambiguity I disagree actually. This format sits around the turn 5 to 6 area. A 7 drop like Platinum Angel would most likely never hit the table. Especially not Platinum Emperion.

Yes, Surging Flame would be banned, along with probably all other cards with ripple. I'm gunna add that to the description.

I definitely need to try out an Akroan Horse deck. I wonder how quickly that could get out-of-hand.

It's probably bad. xD

SO; Teir List

T1:Hedron Crab is the most reliable mill deck we've tested.

Soul Warden is just stupid against non-lord creature strategies

Champion of the Parish is a great aggro deck because of it's ability to apply pressure

Lord of Atlantis is another great aggro deck

Shriekmaw and Banisher Priest Just stops most creature decks

Spectral Procession is a good advantage deckAltar of the Brood is a good resilient anti-control deck

Eidolon of the Great Revel is the only non busted burn deck so far

t2Wellwisher

Dungrove Elder

Boros Reckoner

Phyrexian Obliterator

The format definitely favors 1 and 2 drops. If you're using a three-drop, it better be damn good.

one word: Zombie Infestation

bamfbanki says... #16

I think a good deck set up is LoA/SoulWarden/HedronCrab

November 24, 2014 1:06 p.m.

bamfbanki says... #17

Zombie Infestation has too great of a cost without a draw engine. It's just not gonna work

I may have to reconsider Lightning Bolt as a strategy.

Playing with 45 Bolts and 15 Mountains, your ideal hand is 2 mountains. You can mulligan to 6 and still accidently draw a third mountain, and still win on your turn 4 on the draw. That means it can beat Lord of Atlantis even if lord is on the play, and even if lightning bolt mulligans to 6, maybe even down to 5 to dig down to that double mountain draw.

bamfbanki says... #19

Bolt is actually a fair burn deck too. It doesn't grow like kindle does.

November 24, 2014 1:14 p.m.

bamfbanki says... #20

BTW I really want to test Gnat Miser because that seems to be the only viable hand disruption deck.

November 24, 2014 1:15 p.m.

bamfbanki says... #21

Hypnotic Specter Holy Shit

November 24, 2014 1:21 p.m.

-Logician says... #22

Gnat Miser doesn't really seem too amazing. If you can get out 6 of them by turn 3 on the play, then yeah not bad against midrange.

Hypnotic Specter doesn't start discarding until turn 4, and could be very easily stopped by Baleful Strix or Vampire Nighthawk. Seems like a less than optimal strategy.

Bolt, as it now describes in the description, actually wins faster than kindle. In a Bolt VS Kindle matchup, bolt could even win the the draw.

November 24, 2014 1:27 p.m.

bamfbanki says... #23

But yeah I'd probably consider Baleful Strix T1

Flying definite has its merit, but wouldn't a 1-drop infect be just... better?
