New Infinite 1

Modern

So i began a infinite combo deck that contained 3 separate combos, but quickly realized that too much of a good thing doesn't always work out.

So I will be splitting that deck into two separate decks. This deck will feature an infinite counter combo that will allow a 4th turn Jace, the mind sculptor ultimate or two different infinite mana combos (one uses the same setup as the previous combo, which can get infinite mana on 3rd or 4th turn, depending on which combo pops up first. This can feed into walking ballista for that 3rd or 4th turn kill. If you're lucky enough for the 3rd turn infinite mana, described below, you can drop Jace on 3rd turn and pump him and pop his ultimate, on 3rd turn. OUCH.

Splitting the decks will also allow for me to narrow the colors to two per deck, green/blue for this one and blue/black for the second, as well as allow me to throw in enough control spells till i can get my win condition set up.

For the 3rd turn kill using Jace WITH ULTIMATE..........

Turn 1- green land (preferably breeding pool) llanowar elves and drop paradise mantle for 0

Turn 2- Blue land (preferably hinterland Harbor) and drop Gilder Bairn for 3, tapping elves for the third.

Turn 3- any land drop will do. cast training grounds for U, then cast Pentad prism for 2 (using a blue and a green to cast so you get two counters). Remove 1 counter to equip mantle on Gilder.

Now you are ready for infinite. Tap Gilder (with mantle) to float a Green or blue. Then untap Gilder using that floating mana. You no longer need to pay the 2 colorless on Gilder with Training grounds in play. Now you have doubled the counters on Pentad, now there are 2, repeat 4, repeat 8, repeat 16, etc......infinite. Now drop Jace, double his counters using Gilder until you have a surplus....you read that right you can DOUBLE THE COUNTERS ON JACE. Now pop ultimate. opponent loses library. If you are lucky enough to also have Walking Ballista.....well now that's just mean.

Using the other combo.....

Turn 1- breeding pool and elves (not necessary as this is a turn 4 combo either way)

Turn 2- Hinterland and drop Pili-Pala for 2

Turn 3- any land and Grand Architect

Turn 4- tap land for B making Pili a "blue" artifact. Tap Pili for 2 colorless (part of Architect ability, Untap Pili for any color mana. Repeat for infinite. Then drop Walking Ballista.

I currently have half the cards on their way to me, but I have played Proxy versions of this and it does well consistently. It could benefit from Misty rainforest instead of flooded grove, but I wanted to save money. Instead I will likely run polluted delta at 1/3 the cost and can still search for breeding pool.....WIN!!!! LOL

I have dropped 3rd turn Jace on unsuspecting opponents and the expressions when he realizes what just happened, along with the expressions of other tournament players is absolutely PRICELESS. Only once has it worked out to drop Jace and Ballista on turn 3, the opponent just had this defeated blank stare, his only words "Well now that's just mean" (the explanation of the comment from above). This deck has done well against tier 1 humans, about 50/50, as meddling mage just ruins the whole set up. sometimes you have removal available, others not so much.

Let me know what you guys think. I am still working on sideboard. I'm thinking Grafdiggers but I'm just not sure. Honestly I have never sideboarded with this deck so any suggestions would be appreciated.
