New Ramp (Naya?) OR Kruphix Deck (New Simic) U/G (RUG/Bant Variants)
History:Started as Selesnya Populate MonstersThen played Red/Green Satyr GruulAbout half of the Selesnya deck became a Junk deck.Now combining the Junk, Gruul, and Selesnya decks (most likely ditching the black to become Naya).
This is the Naya installment of the progression. Previous installment was Junk (evolved from Selesnya). Much of the combined cards are from Gruul Satyr deck.
Why red? Stormbreath dragon (prot. white), Skullcrack (anti-lifegain), access to burn, Xenagos (God and Planeswalker).
Why not black? Better as a devotion deck (mono black). Thoughtseize hard in 3 color especially when black is not a lot of symbols overall compared to other colors.
OR
What about Bant or Simic or 4 Color (Green/Blue/Red/White)...?

White you are losing elspeth and banishing light and ajani planeswalkers. Also lose Archangel of thune.
The blue comes from greed. From extra ramp, being able to untag creatures (and land for ramp), and Prophet of Kruphix for insane board dominance. But what will replace banishing light? and Elspeth...
Encrust does not replace banishing light... not even close really..

Try the Naya first, then perhaps progress into the RUG with Prophet (Ditching White, Picking up Blue)
Update: Deck looking close to done for initial play testing. May be a good idea to drop the Revel, Purphoros, and Chandra (from sideboard) to add a 24th land and a 4th mystic, and then adding 1 strong sideboard card or keep the Chandra.
Purphoros is incredibly strong with a Xenagos or Elspeth already in play. In addition, drawing into a Revel with Purphoros already in play is incredibly strong (Assuming the Revel can be cast).
Update: 8/6/14The RUG version of this deck would take out all of the White cards/counter synergy stuff. Those cards would be the Archangel of Thune, Scavenging Ooze, Primeval Bounty, Kalonian Hydra, Ajani Steadfast, Ajani, Mentor of Heroes, Elspeth, and Banishing Light. The amount of non land card slots opened up to insert blue cards would be 12. Perhaps the Purphoros comes out in the RUG version because no Elspeth. This would increase slots to 13.
This deck lacks consistency because of 1 of 2 of variants, but provides a lot to play against opponents, it's just having the right one at the right time. For this reason more consistent 4 of 2 of system is probably better, but hard for 3 color. The starting hand pretty much has to have Ramp of some sort (Mystic, Caryatid,or even a Courser), then the deck basically tries to get a big creature, or several with +1/+1 counters. Counter synergy exists between the Ajani PW's, Scourge of Skola Vale, Kalnian Hydra, Archangel of Thune, Scavenging Ooze, Primeval Bounty, and monstrous SB Dragon. If I am not Countering Up creatures I should be ramping into Xenagos and Elspeth creating tokens and possibly going off with Purphoros in play at the time of token generation.
Update: 8/9/14 Changed up the sideboard but will be keeping the old one in for Gameday. Mainly because I only have 1 archangel. Took out runic thar, sylvan primordial, and predator's rapport out.
I am considering taking out the scavenging ooze for a nyx fleece ram. I am not an aggro deck, I have a lot of creatures, but many of them are expensive and will not be in graveyard until late and not in timeA ram on the other hand can stop a lot more, gains me consistent life, and with no mana cost. Scavenging ooze can be abused more but requires a lot of creature cards in graveyards. ooze gets counters ram does not. scavenging ooze also has 2 power but the ram is still a far superior blocker with 5 toughness though it won't be killing anything without counter synergy. ooze can also eat to exile opponents creatures that can return from graveyard and or have graveyard effects. For this reason ooze stays. Ram sideboard.
Domri Rade instead of purphoros? Purph is almost never going to be a creature even with chandra side boarded. Domri is like courser but also unfortunately is so similar that is also shares CMC.
