For Sarkhan, I recommend only using his first two abilities unless it's absolutely necessary. Drawing cards and getting mana is a powerful +1 ability and getting 4/4 dragons every 2-3 turns is amazing. I pulled Sarkhan Unbroken at a draft and he was a win con, and I had no dragons in my deck. (The only ones I pulled were Lightning Shrieker, so...)

I doubt I'd be able to pull off his ultimate anyways most of the time, although that would certainly be interesting with my deck. Haha
Other question for consideration, is my mama base too painful? I considered adding back 1 or 2 Temple of Abandon or a Temple of Mystery

Wow! It's a great deck. Would you please check out and play test my two control decks?! I need feedback ASAP!

Your mama base? Gotta love autocorrect. Anyway, yes, your mana base is very painful, but untapped lands>tapped lands, so idk if its worth it.

I'll let you know after fnm tonight how it goes. Goodness... "Mama base"

Tldr; deck works great, but thinking of bringing back Frost Walker maybe to get the earlier ferocious by dropping 1 Boon Satyr, 1 Heir of the Wilds, and 1 Lightning Strike for 3x Frost Walker. Thoughts??

Would also like feedback on which Sarkhan you think would be best for this deck? I'm starting to lean towards Sarkhan Unbroken although part of me still likes Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker.

If you want Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker effects, play Stormbreath Dragon. Sarkhan Unbroken is better imo.

Ok. I like Sarkhan Unbroken because even if I tap out to cast him if he gets Hero's Downfalled in response, I can activate his +1 and Stubborn Denial whatever to keep him on the field. I'm going to give two of him a shot, maindeck.

Isn't his +1 still sorcery speed, despite it adding mana?

I like Dragonspeaker because he is a flame slash and he is a good beater. Once you have a lot of mana use his ultimate.

Yes his +1 is sorcery speed but the only time I wouldn't have mana to counter would be when I brought him on, in theory.

Looking back over some old comments and realized I never responded here! Cuaderno, Ranger's Guile is an interesting proposal, and it may be a good response if I go back to Rattleclaw Mystic and due to the new elf buff guy they spoiled in Magic origins.
SmokytehBear, I think you may be right about Temur Battle Rage! It might be better and really helpful for getting in a big critical hit to end the game! I'll have to try it out and let you know how it goes.

Play testing with 2x Temur Battle Rage and only 1 Lightning Strike. It seems really good, but would love to hear other people's thoughts.

Aw man I love Temur Ascendancy but I don't know if that fits. Maybe sideboard for games against control. Haste and draw advantage are beautiful

I tried it once upon a time, but it didn't fit well and usually stayed in hand until I had already won without it. What do you think about Temur Battle Rage?

FullmetalWes says... #19
Temur Battle Rage is awesome to get damage through. Only problem I run into boosting creatures while attacking is my opponent holding onto a kill spell, I have priority and cast Temur Battle Rage, they destroy it in response and I loose two cards and tempo. Naturally kill spells always hurt but I can hurt less if you plan for it. Either way I say go with whatever feels right. Temur Battle Rage is probably great against other aggro decks, plus it's actually a Temur card!

I think I'll give it a shot with 2 copies main board in place of 2x Lightning Strike. Usually I've got mana to counter the kill spell.

Has anyone tried out Torrent Elemental in a Temur deck? Wondering if he'd be good as a 1 of to basically win.

I actually played against a very similar deck at this week's fnm. It was a little less tempo and a little more ramp, but otherwise pretty similar. I'd try Nissa, Worldwaker in the sideboard and try out Dragonlord Atarka.

Nissa, Worldwaker might be worth a shot. Could be good in the late game to make some threats if my main guys get killed and can combo with Crater's Claws with the untap ability.

I'll restate again my love for Temur Battle Rage. Even if they get burnt, it's only 2 mana. If you're holding onto a Stubborn Denial you'll probably have some left to cast it, and I don't see it as a rare occurrence that you might still have the 3 needed for pumping or bouncing the Knuckleblade if necessary. It isn't bulletproof sure, but nothing really is though.
Honestly I'd say consider what they're using. Lightning Strike is probably more versatile, but if you see them loading up the chumps, sideboarding some Battle Rage might be a good way to stop a little weasel from ruining your plans, with a big surprise punch to their face to go with it.

I acquired 2 Polukranos, World Eater in a trade and was thinking of dropping Ashcloud Phoenix and a Boon Satyr or Heir of the Wilds for 2x Polukranos, World Eater. Anyone have feedback on Polukranos?
Brycetastic says... #1
I think you might be right, Curchanus. I'll have to get my hands on two copies and give it a shot.
