I've been seeing a lot of Abzan lately. That's part of what's making me look at changing some things up...

I actually like Boon Satyr quite a bit against Abzan. It trades with pretty much all of their creatures sans Siege Rhino and the Bestow option will often generate you a 2-for-1.

Ya I think you're right. Maybe I'd drop a copy of Heir of the Wilds Just to add one Poly K. I know heir can take out everything with deathtouch but I feel like I need another big threat or two.

Cool deck, I would maybe suggest more play sets of creatures for more of a steady flow and way to play, I would also recommend some creatures with prowess like Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest he just a fun and interactive card that I have dealt 12 damage with in a temur build. This is my temur tempo that Is more spell based, slightly more like a jeskai tempo deck.

Thanks for the suggestions, Carson12rocks, I checked out your deck and gave it a +1! It's an interesting idea.
As for my deck, a lot of the creatures are not playsets for a reason. Surrak, the Hunt Caller is legendary, so I can only use 1 of him at a time. I consider my 1xAshcloud Phoenix as the "same" as a 4th copy of Thunderbreak Regent since he is similar, but allows me to block twice if needed. I am considering dropping him since I finally got a 4th copy of Thunderbreak Regent though...
I only have 3xBoon Satyr because that's all I have... but I think that I'd only want 3 copies of him anyways. He's great at providing some utility and can be cast early or late game to control tempo, but I don't want to go to 4x of him, since I could have a more powerful creature at that spot.
I'm running into trouble figuring out what to drop, if anything. Everytime I feel like I shouldn't change anything, I want to do something different. Void Snare is looking like a possible addition, but I just don't know...

the reason that it is hard to deal with Boon Satyr is because of the bestow cost.but the stormbreath dragon is very good with surrak, the hunt call because of the monstrosity 1\1 counters

I dislike Void Snare here, it's card disadvantage and although it can help with dealing bonus damage it'll normally just waste a slot in your hand. Imo, Sarkhan Unbroken > Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker as the +1 replaces the card in your hand, rather than being 'deal 4 damage'

I have an abzan aggro deck with 4x Heir of the Wilds, and 4x Sylvan Caryatids and of course the Rakshasa Deathdealers... i got 4 of them suckers in the deck
June 26, 2015 6:54 p.m.
exactly, and Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker can do the damage because of Void Snare.

I would go maybe a bit more answering to push your creatures through With no creature spells like Wild Slash Lightning Strike and stuff and drop some creatures, because the more creatures you have, the clunkier the deck is, and so I would recommend dropping some creatures to add some more tempo/fluency to the deck. Just a thought though, it's your deck.

One card I'm looking at is Aqueous Form. It would be great on many of my creatures and would also help with card advantage. Also, considering maybe Anticipate? If I did include one of these, I'm also not sure what I'd take out...

I really like Icy Blast as a tempo swing. Baiting your opponent to go all in on a single attack the tapping down their forces for a turn or two seems good. Also I really am beginning to live Icefall Regent. His lock down your Opponents Storm Breath seems good as well.

Why no Harbinger of the Tides? I'm no tempo player, but he seems utterly made for it. I actually think they conciously made this card explicitly for tempo.

Might be a good addition. I do have a single copy. I guess I could drop a copy of Stubborn Denial?

Maybe, like I said, I'm a control player- not tempo by a long shot. But it seems reasonable that in tempo, the goal of which, I believe, is essentially to suppress your opponent's field while advancing yours, that a creature that bounces other creatures and has pseudo-flash would be more valuable than a non-creature-spell counter. I think creatures are your real concern?
Could you maybe explain the archetype to me?

The main goal is to be aggressive but not dump my entire hand too quickly. Basically to play threats but to protect them through counter spells and cheap burn. Then usually finish the game off with a Crater's Claws or a big swing with haste (through Surrak or Stormbreath). Tempo = answers for most of the stuff my opponent does to maintain board advantage.

Speaking of Surrak, how about Surrak Dragonclaw? You can have him and Surrak, the Hunt Caller out at the same time.

I usually just side him in against Control, which is sometimes not even necessary. I ended up forgetting to put in Harbinger of the Tides before we started, and ended up making Top 8 and losing in the semi-final. Not a bad day for Temur! Definitely going to give the harbinger a shot next time.

Too me it's a question of how much Abzan you'll be playing against. Between Ultimate Price, Hero's Downfall and Abzan Charm they have sooo many ways of efficiently dealing with Poly K and costing you a great deal of tempo.
