Black white zombies is a standard thing. Black blue zombies is a standard thing. Mono black zombies is a standard thing. NOW! Black Red Zombies is a Standard thing!
Think about the awesome discard outlets from Shadows that worked around Black Red Vampires. Use Olivia, Cathartic Reunion and Chandra (just a great card) to make a mono black Zombies deck go to the next level in a way that no one is really thinking at the moment. Will they start thinking it though?
Mainboard:
Obviously Cryptbreaker is the 1 drop of choice for any zombie deck. He fills your graveyard with all the stuff you need while maintaining strong board presence with that 2/2 Zombie Tokens. Relentless Dead has all its own mertis, although, I think it's way overpriced at the moment, and not going to do what everyone needs it to do. That being said, it's certainly a $10 Card (and not much more in my opinion) that is needed to make standard zombies work. 3-drop Liliana is amazing, as always, but Death's Majesty from Amonkhet is what really fits into this deck to be a mid-late game power play. Plague Belcher has it's obvious synergy, and of course Kalitas makes the cut, since he's generating Zomies, and is over all just big ugly obstacle that becomes a target for removal. Remember, Zombie tokens are being made, we're getting rewarded for filling up our graveyard, and Prized Amalgam is coming out each time we pull anything else out onto the battlefield.
Now, imagine all the opportunity Olivia, Mobilized for War gives this deck. There are a lot of possibilities to get 3 or 4 creatures onto the battlefield each turn, mid-late game. They get counters and haste just for tossing Never/Return, Prized Amalgam, Dread Wanderer, Scraphead Scrounger, and un-needed lands into the graveyard! Essentially we're rewarded for discarding cards we either want in the graveyard, or just don't need in our hand. And, it's always scary to play with no cards in hand, I get it. But with Dread Wanderer in the graveyard, it's still doable. We don't have to be afraid of running out of cards.
Sideboard:
Just wanted some more removal for dealing with Giddeons as they become creatures. It could get tough to win if someone just keeps playing Gideons, ya know! Also, catbeast combo needs to die. Incendiary flow and Never/Return take care of Scrapheap Scrounger, and other recursion creatures (like Zombies, LOL), that is if Kalitas isn't enough to get the job done. I also threw in some hand hate, because, come on, it's black. And, Combustible Gearhulk is actually better in this deck than any other I think.
Accquire:
Obviously the deck needs more Cryptbreakers and Relentless Dead. But, you don't have what you don't have!
Maybe:
Diregraf Colossus has always been good. Does it deserve a spot in this deck? I wonder, the three slot is already pretty competetive.
