Thanks. Included those cards and a bunch of specters. Do you think those specters might be good in here?

Scythe Specter and card:Liliana's Specter are worth it for their multiplayer value, but the rest are not really so good in that format I'm afraid (certainly not Needle Specter ).
You may want Vow of Malice ; it's just very versatile. Also look for tutors to fetch your best cards; Diabolic Tutor , Increasing Vengeance and/or Diabolic Revelation should do the trick.
If you're throwing enough mana around, try Dread Cacodemon too.

Thanks.
I will still keep Hollow Specter for now since it lets me choose what should be discarded. The other specters got out. Now only 3 specters stay.
Vow of Malice is a good idea and Dread Cacodemon could be worth it since this deck looks like it could get out a good bunch of mana.
I would like to play Increasing Vengeance but it is red. :-(

Guy above meant Increasing Ambition
Also, Glacial Chasm .

Glacial Chasm doesn't prevent me from the life-loss through the cumulative upkeep and I don't know if further constant life-loss could be too risky.
January 11, 2013 4:38 a.m.
You have essentially a permanent fog to keep you out of the combat equation, - land removal is probably the least common removal in most EDH playgroups, too. Cumulative upkeep counters can be removed from this just like your general in case it gets to be too much.
But this is me thinking of how to commit to the near-death plan. Drain your own life (in a controlled way, also Phyrexian Arena , Underworld Connections to dig for combo cards), then on the turn you wanna win sac Glacial Chasm by not paying the cost, spring a life reversal, and swing for the win.

Ok. That may be an idea. I will try Glacial Chasm and see if it works.
Phyrexian Arena and Underworld Connections along with Koskun Falls will enter the deck too.
I still need more creatures. Does somebody have further creature based ideas for this deck?
January 11, 2013 8:53 a.m.
I would try to give Morinfen a way to deal immense damage very quickly.
Perhaps you could add in a Fireshrieker and a Grappling Hook to equip on your commander. Double strike also tends to play nice with a plethora of specters, including the Hypnotic Specter and the Scythe Specter . The Scion of Darkness , Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni , and Ashling, the Extinguisher are all easy to abuse with double strike.
If you choose to go this route, I would add in Grim Tutor and Vampiric Tutor to facilitate the execution of your combos.

card:Lich's Mirror as an emergency fall back in case something goes awry with your life switching mechanic.
Lashwrithe or Nightmare Lash over Endless Scream and possibly Vow of Malice and Mark of the Vampire . (equipment are just better at that sort of thing) The point of the deck is to avoid gaining life right?
Vesuva for sure. just goes silly with dual cabal coffers on the board.
Syphon Mind for sure! way too good in multiplayer.
Things to help you lose life card:Imp's Mischief Withering Boon
Good cards taht will help you nueter an opponent Nightmare Incursion Sadistic Sacrament

The lifelink is in this deck for a bit of safety and to last longer against constant attacks that can bring down my life quite quickly together with Morinfen .
I don't know if card:Lich's Mirror is worth it since I won't get out quick enough to compete with the other players that already have built up. I'll consider it.
Lashwrithe and Nightmare Lash will replace 2 X pump cards for more constant damage and additional defense istead of only pumping power.
Vow of Malice and will stay for being very versatile. Mark of the Vampire will be likely to get out.
Vesuva is a good point so I will add it.
I don't know about Nightmare Incursion and Sadistic Sacrament . I think cards that add more directly to the deck strategy will be better.
card:Imp's Mischief and Withering Boon are both interesting and will be considered once I am on perfect size and find cards that are not worth it and can be replaced.

IMO, Eternity Vessel would probably make more sense than card:Lich's Mirror.

You could easily turn this deck into a Mono-Black Voltron with Korlash, Heir to Blackblade , but as it it's pretty cool. I don't imagine you'd be using the general too often but that's alright. +1

Thanks for the suggestion and the +1. I'll definetely keep my commander and I use him more often then you could imagine since I can kill quite good with commander damage due to the flying ability. And the cumulative upkeep costs are a good way to be abused with Magus of the Mirror and similar cards that I can get quite good with all those tutors in there. It's a bit dangerous sometimes but a lot of fun to play. Especially if you suprise kill your enemys with life trade and direct damage or creature damage.

Wanted to say thanks for creating this deck, I used it as a base to make my own similar deck http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/universal-awakening/ . +1

Thanks for the feedback,
Hey try Unspeakable Symbol with your Soul Conduit it's infinitely repeatable, and turn 7 and on it's practically a player kill every turn. As a bonus you can play it a little safe by stacking the counters on your commander. If you've got 25 life, you can drop your life to 10 to put 5 +1/+1 counters on Morinfen , switch life with your opponent, and then swing for a kill!
It's not entirely useless without soul conduit either as it can accelerate commander damage quite quickly. You can get a two swing kill by beefing up Morinfen to a 11/11 and swinging two turns in a row.

just a heads up, because of the new legendary rule Thespian's Stage works with Dark Depths too now for awesome shenanigan fun :D

Thanks for the feedback and the praise canterlotguardian. I love my commander and I love the faces of people when I tell them that in contrast to their views I play him quite often and even win with him. The faces when I play the key cards for winning with him are mostly paraphrased by "Oh fuck" or "Aaah, that's how.", or a combination of both. XD
Whip of Erebos is definetely worth a thought. I will consider it though the impact has to be tested since I doubt it a bit. This is because I play a bit of a all or nothing route and usually dont use too much creatures at once.
Thanks for the comment, the heads up and the reminder almalong. I simply forgot to include Thespian's Stage. I definetely will put it in.

Chainer, Dementia Master for extra flavor. Nightmare too. Instead of Doom Blade, try Malicious Affliction. Try Hero's Downfall instead of Murder, Sever the Bloodline doesn't seem that great in commander. Hymn to Tourach and Mind Twist seem like pretty good ways to get your opponents to discard. BTW, you have 102 cards.

MartialArt says... #22
Thanks for all those suggestions Laszlokh. Yes I know that I have 102 cards. It is because I don't know what else to cut out. I will simply play the deck till I find some things I can cut, or till somebody can give me a suitable idea of what to cut and why.
Malicious Affliction instead of Doom Blade seems like a good idea and Hero's Downfall is really better then Murder. Thanks a lot.
But I won't cut Sever the Bloodline. I put it in together with Silence the Believers to have 2 spells that can exile creatures since indestructible is a fatal weakness of this deck and I really need ways to deal with cards like Avacyn and something like it.
Chainer, Dementia Master is REALLY tempting but I don't know what to cut for it. I will keep it in mind till I figure out how to get a card space for him.
The discard effects are nice but don't effectively contribute to the decks strategy. I will have to pass on them. Even if they really are flavorfull. Especially Mind Twist. But I prefere flavor together with a effect directly fitting into the deck. And only 1 or 2 discard effects don't really do sadly.
greets MA

if you like to generate mana like i do, try adding a Sword of the Paruns or Umbral Mantle for the infinite mana combo with Magus of the Coffers also Vesuva having 3 cabal coffers out or another dark depths never hurts. and lastly the Doubling Cube.
i run a mono black vampire tribal based upon mana and using Drana. its not a full voltron, but work really really well. check it out, there may be a few other ideas there for you. For the Night is Dark and Full of Terrors...
also try adding a Sanguine Bond for another win con, works with Exquisite Blood

Have you considered going a down a swamp or two to bring cards like Shizo, Death's Storehouse or Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx or even Rogue's Passage? I like this deck idea a lot and I'm interested in your take. Also have you considered Torment of Hailfire from Hour of Devestation?

Also Reanimate might be a better choice over Dance of the Dead and a Leechridden Swamp would be a good swap for one of your swamps especially if you decide to run Exquisite Blood
pookypuppy6 says... #1
Well you'll need a few mana rocks to get into those heavier spells. Sol Ring and Thran Dynamo should do a good job in case you find yourself too landless to plop down that Caged Sun stuck in your hand.
card:Praetor's Grasp is great for stealing such artifacts out of other people's EDH decks and using them against them; stealing Lightning Greaves is kinda funny.
