Sideboard

I was never much of a netdecker. Throughout my years of playing Pauper, only one deck, my first competitive deck is a (90%) netdeck. After building that, I did what Magic is all about to me: brew more decks. I never even planned on owning another non-brew deck until I saw this one.

This deck resonates with me so well. It's the marriage of sets from some of my favorite blocks: Lorwyn block and the Ravnica blocks. The creatures in it are very much to my liking: they're cute, weird, unique and fun to play. The mechanic, which is a mixture of aggro, voltron and extort is also unique and fun. And so this became my second and most likely last deck which isn't my own brew.

That being said, while it's competitive, I don't think that this ever was a top tier deck. It's capable of winning though and I did win games with it, even had top3 spots. It feels so good to drive a unique deck like this to victory.

Mimics are cute and fun (even though they look and are described like a menace) but out of the bunch only this one has a competitive deck built around; at least to my knowledge. This one has the best bonus, the best Aura, the best creatures in it's company and the best 2nd mechanic to support it.

The deck can win in multiple ways. It's aggro, so plan A is, of course, to kill the opponent fast with turn 2 4/4 lifelinkers or turn 3 4/4 or 7/7 fliers. Lot depends on your draw and on your opponent in deciding what order you play your threats in. The other, more grindy wincon is the extort. For one extra mana, this makes every spell you play drain your opponent for 1 which can slowly kill them, while they have a hard time killing you fast because of the life you gained in the early game and keep gaining later on. The main removal is Unmake which is a really cool card in itself that can deal with threats other removals can't.

This isn't a 100% netdeck, I didn't just copy the whole thing from somewhere, I still had to update the land base, the supporting cards, the sideboard, and decide how many to play from a card. After some testing this became the final form of the deck. Super fun, supe cute, super unique. A lovely deck in my collection.
