Nin - What's Tappening

Commander / EDH*

SilverhawkPX45

This is now the third iteration of a deck I just cannot put down. It's what I like to call a "sum of it's parts deck" and its most glaring weakness is probably the fact that an opponent can't see the win coming, which feels a bit unfair, I guess. I've tried to diminish that effect by playing as many board based tricks as possible, but since I try to win with specific instants and sorceries, it's impossible to show those to the opponent ahead of time.

I'm consciously avoiding a lot of staple cards to give the deck more personality. There's a wizard tribal theme, but at this point it's for about 2-3 cards, because most wizards just... aren't really fun, honestly. I'm looking at you, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir and Patron Wizard!

This deck is an ongoing effort to make the Commander format fun for all participating players. Yes, the deck tries to win with what is essentially a combo, but it does so by turn 15+, so it doesn't end games prematurely and isn't playing any counterspells or cards that lock the boardstate like Meekstone.

Once again, I will shelve this decklist. The reason for this is primarily that I am unable to make this deck powerful without also making it incredibly unfun to play against. I'd rather just not propagate that kind of feeling if I can help it.

Cards that would find inclusion in the deck now would be things like Forcefield, Meishin, the Mind Cage and Meekstone. Nobody wants to play against that kind of deck, obviously, so I'd rather free up the duals used in Nin for other projects.
