Nin is a card drawing machine! I can't say enough good things about this innocuous little wizard. Usually I hit my own creatures or Nin herself, but the threat of direct damage is a potent deterrent for a lot of different strategies.

The deck is mostly blue and plays blue's control game: steal the juiciest creatures and permanents, counter the combos, and overwhelm your opponent with overbearing card advantage.

I use red here to fill in the gaps blue lacks, removal via Balefire dragon, blasphemous act, and starstorm.

THe key to winning is to deflect attacks until you can built the base to play one of your big splashy spells. Rites of replication, or Palinchron + high tide, or maybe one of your opponent's combos you were able to steal (it happens more often than you'd think!)

Wizards are a sub theme. Vedalken aethermage can tudor for any number of silver bullets: Venser, glen Elendra archmage, izzet chronarch, voidmage husher (no one sees it coming ) and trinket mage (which has a small subset of answers) etc.

Lands: the three lands that really pull their weight: Reliquary tower, Riptide Laboratory, and Winding canyons. Nin really benefits from flash or haste!
