You can hit Reclamation Sage off of Lead the Stampede, so I'd play that over Krosan Grip in your sideboard.

I don't think Nissa Revane is where you want to be, Elves wants to win quicker than she allows. I'd cut her and the Nissa's Chosens, play 4x Elvish Clancaller, 2 more Elvish Archdruid and 1 more Ezuri, Renegade Leader. I'd also cut Imperious Perfect and Elvish Champion for Dwynen's Elite to make the go-wide plan better. If you wanted to keep some of the extra lords, I'd cut all eight of the enters the battlefield tapped lands, but overall play 2 fewer lands. Those etb tapped lands will cost you games by slowing you down.

If you ever decided to go for a bigger budget, play 3-4x Chord of Calling, 4x Heritage Druid, 4x Collected Company and 1x Craterhoof Behemoth.

I agree with above, mostly, but always have Elvish Champion in the side board, for any mirror style matches, or to punish any Gx decks like Jund. Collected Company is good if your looking for a lot of little guys, but Lead the Stampede is better at fueling you hand, so you can do something with all the mana you'll make. When I play tested your list, I kept asking where the Elvish Archdruid was, and got Imperious Perfect...which was meh. As for the lands, I'd drop all four of the Llanowar Reborn, it's slow and clunky. Oran-Rief, the Vastwood could be a good payoff (but could still cost you games). All in all, I think you have a good list that doesn't involve Shaman of the Pack or Bloodbraid Elf.

Oh, follow up, if you are going to stick with Nissa and the Chosen, might think about Mercy Killing as a way to generate a wider board state.

@LoneCrusader399 I was completely unaware of the existence of Elvish Clancaller! Awesome 2 drop slot suggestion. I am brand new to playing elves; but I have noticed quite a lot of Craterhoof Behemoth combos here however I wanna try to stick with a pure Elf tribal deck.

@Miste_Wolfe oh yeah Mercy Killing can possibly create some really interesting plays! I personally have Never seen that before.

Also, Heroic Intervention is generally more useful than Wrap in Vigor. I know it's more expensive, but definitely trade for those if possible.

@LoneCrusader399 honestly outside of budget reasons I can't come up with a practicle reason/screnario where Wrap in Vigor would be better than Heroic Intervention.

Some examples of removal that are commonly played that get around Wrap in Vigor but not Heroic Intervention include Wrath of God, Damnation, Detention Sphere and Path to Exile to name a few. Plus, since your creatures don't regenerate, they can still attack after casting Heroic Intervention. Remember that a creature that regenerates gets taken out of combat.

@LoneCrusader399 yeah that's what I was getting at. I can't think of a scenario where regeneration is better.

Sorry, I straight misread that.

This looks fun. I looked at some of your other decks. Do you legitimately put in the soundtrack for the deck on every one? If so, I applaud you.

@nmiller FINALLY! Some soundtrack love!

I've been looking for ways to make my old nissa revane deck no modern viable...

Icbrgr says... #14

@6ixer I hear ya, the Nissa Revane and Nissa's Chosen package isn't exactly cut-throat competitive but they are a long shot from being Bad in a dedicated Elf deck. Personally I really enjoy running this decklist and am a fan of Nissa and her chosen. She poops out elves and gains life and frankly sometimes a 2/3 elf with some Lord's in play is all you need to smash the opponent.

6ixer says... #15

Your right about her not being that competitive or what ever, how ever the fact that she can re-occur blockers and or attackers to protect her is nicr, but again as much as I'd love to play her in modern.... with cards like blood braid and shaman of the pact doing more on impact .... kinda hard to make her work

November 4, 2018 10:16 p.m.

6ixer says... #16

Before shaman of the pact was printer and before they unbaned blood braid I was playing green white elves in modern.... wasn't broken but I consistanly went 3-2 with a couple of 4-1's and I played her and her children lol

White was mainly side board but the white main was just for the 4 of path and mana for gavony township activation.

6ixer says... #17

Because I don't need to tell you how dumb it can get when the game stalls and you have a nissa revane out and you pump out nissa chosen and constantly are able to activate gavony township

i like the idea of using joraga warcaller. +1 for that

i get that this is a budget deck?! Still there is no excuse of playing nyleas presence, as it is completely useles here!

aand Heroic Intervention is a better Wrap in Vigor

Stinkepete says... #19

ohh sorry! i didnt get the combo with elvish champion. yea thats cool. still a bit unreliable as you cant tutor for it but i like the idea ^^

Icbrgr says... #20

@Stinkepete I agree that Heroic Intervention is a better choice than Wrap in Vigor ; I just haven't gotten around to getting any of them in my collection; but its a clear/easy upgrade option that ill pick up when i see some copies floating around in the LGS binder/glass cabinet and i got money to burn.

As far as the Elvish Champion + Nylea's Presence combo is concerned its mainly in here just for fun to create some "oops I win" scenarios but isn't anything I ever rely on happening. Nylea's Presence replaces itself to help me draw into more elves/relevant spells in the early game/game 1 which is nice; but ultimately is my go-to sideboard fodder to make room for GY hate or artifact/enchantment removal and such.

Honestly, if I might make a suggestion, replace Wrap in Vigor with Heroic Intervention. Same price but makes them (and everything else you have) hexproof and indestructible, which is better than regenerate—stuff like Damnation doesn't get around it, and it doesn't remove them from combat.

Otherwise, as a fellow Elf, I love it!

lol the archived comments is basically everyone telling me to switch to Heroic Intervention hahaha... the dang card just hasn't been in the game store in the bulk rares/class case whenever I look for it.... but with it being reprinted for M21 im sure its gonna come my way via booster pack or something in short order.

I didn't even see those! I can probably think of a few others, since I have some Elf decks myself. Also, I suppose you might consider Veil of Summer in the sideboard. Helps against pesky control decks and cantrips so it's very helpful.

I hope you enjoy the deck as much as we all love Elves.
