Can't wait to build an Elspeth + Mortars deck to break Nissa users hearts. :D

Sadly, for you, I don't plan, nor need to ultimate her. That is not this decks plan. I don't think anyone really plans on her ultimate. But if I do make one, feel free to waste a mortar on it. ;)

Love this. What do you think about splashing white for Ajani Steadfast . I've found that his +1 ability makes it so that no deck can race you. And being that this has no removal, you will probably end up racing a lot. He's also a good find with Genesis Hydra

There's a lot of G/X decks that can be built, I've even built one, but this deck is strictly Mono-Green. This deck, being a ramp deck, hits very fast and hard and can withstand attacks from aggro decks.
Thanks for the up! And if you build a G/W let me know so I can take a look at it :)

I could run that, but I'd rather not. I'm mainly using Nissa for her untapping of forests. The only time I would probably use the first ability is if I were mana flooded (from lands). And if I were to make one or two 4/4 lands I don't think that's enough to warrant Darksteel Citadel. Maybe in a different deck, sure.

I like this deck. Its fast and it gets out the good stuff that would keep the board under your control.

Thanks, Strifferthefallen! Speed and power are some of the key elements to this deck. Don't forget to give this deck a +1 seeing as you like it :)

It's a decent card, but more of a trick, imho. I'd rather Genesis Hydra guarantee me another card be on the battlefield. I think there's just too many other better cards out there.

I just slaughtered a R/B aggro deck, and all I had as a land base from T3 to T8 was 2x Forest and 1x Nykthos. T9 I finally pulled a 3rd Forest but it didn't really matter. I ended up taking 7 damage to the face because I didn't want to sac either Voyaging Satyr. Glad I didn't because they were instrumental. With 3 friggin lands I ended the game with something like 8 creatures on the board. I ended the game giving Polukranos his monstrosity for 10, thereby wiping out his board. No swings were necessary, but if I had the total damage would have been 33.
Damn, I'm impressed! :)

I playtested it against my new brew: Caution: This deck experiences BUGs and it was a little sad for you because I won 2-0. Your deck gets trashed by Thoughtseize and spot removal...

SpaderAce, I just took a look at your deck and it's very nice! But, I'm curious as to how the games went, if there was a mulligan, if there should have been a mulligan, if the correct moves were made, etc., because I just played one match and on T9 you were overwhelmed. The removal was working great, but it was very limited, as to not being enough to deal with all of the threats. It started out fast for you and slow for me because you killed key cards of mine, but by T5 the writing was on the wall. If anything, I'd say both our decks work well against each other.

Lol I'll test it a few times more if you want. Maybe I had a couple misplays or something, so with a couple more tries we'll see how it goes

And sideboard in some things. Hey, I really dig your deck. Very expensive, I must say lol, but very competitive.
July 20, 2014 12:19 p.m.
Well I just tested again, 3 times in a row, and I lost all of them D:
I'm on the road to building a new deck, and I've tried so many different versions. I finally have money to spend but I don't know what to build. And even if I just netdecked, I wouldn't know what to choose, ugh...

The deck you built is great, but very expensive to invest in so near to rotation. That is unless you already have most of what you need. I dunno, do you have a color preference and favorite playstyle? Mono-Green is obviously going to be a thing. Affinity (artifacts) are going to be interesting. G/X like G/U and G/R I think will be really tough. I really like Scuttling Doom Engine and his interaction with Life's Legacy and Shrapnel Blast . I think that's a thing.

Uh, I'm not referring to her ultimate. I am referring to her +1, turn a land into a 4/4. That's where Mortars and Elspeth will come into play. A good way to stall and/or wreck your curve. ;)

"But if I do make one, feel free to waste a mortar on it."
In Playtesting and my proxy deck (only missing Nissa) I've only once used her 4/4 +1. I always use her for the ramp.

"I always use here ramp" - "I've only used her 4/4 +1 once"
Quite the contradiction. ;)

so what would you replace Burning-Tree Emissary after rotation?

Mainboard Changes:
-1 Burning-Tree Emissary
+1 Courser of Kruphix
