Have you considered Soul of New Phyrexia as an answer to spot/mass removal?

Yeah, I have. He may make the sideboard if the meta ends up demanding it, or he may end up replacing a Scuttling Doom Engine, but for now I like the deck how it is. He's definitely maybeboard material.

great deck but i would replace burning tree emissary soon because its rotating out you could probably replace its with sylvan carytid. Also hornet nest makes for some fun early game. check out my mono green deck its very similar to your deck Just another mono green deck

I'm going to keep Burning-Tree Emissary until spoilers for Khans of Takir are done releasing. Then I'll know if I need to swap to Sylvan Caryatid or not.

play tested against my Don't Park Next to the Hydrant which is somewhat of a mirror match and this is what it came down to, pretty much whomever got out a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and a Voyaging Satyr first won the game
***no sideboards used

Lol that's awesome. I liked your deck a while ago. How are you liking Gyre Sage ?
Thanks for testing the deck

@HiddenStrings the Gyre Sage is a relatively new addition , i removed 3x Sylvan Caryatid and added the Sage's. It's kind of a toss up. I like them because they at least have the potential to get bigger , especially with me playing Kalonian Hydra but spot removal is the suck and the Caryatid's can ride that out , am also seriously considering adding at least 1 Soul of New Phyrexia again because of all the spot removal out there , another idea i have been toying with is maybe big maybe on Garruk's Packleader /shrug

I would go with some early punch instead of caryatids. something like Swordwise Centaur it'll work well with devotion plus be some sort of early game for you.

GamerSonX, I don't use Caryatid. Pointless in this deck. Swordwise Centaur is meh for me. I usually chump with Burning-Tree Emissary or eat it with Life's Legacy, which has worked out surprisingly well.
CaptainCaveman, Garruk's Packleader is also kinda meh for me. But I'm with you on Soul of New Phyrexia. It's in my maybeboard, but might eventually find a place in main.
I just totally stomped a Golgari MODERN build, so badly I felt bad for him.

I was referring to the previous post about rotation but okay.

Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, I dunno. If KoT has nothing I'll probably still use the Caryatid for the hexproof mana dorkiness.

This deck is just massive. Playtesting it i couldn't do any better. it seems as long as i find the nykthos voyaging satyr combo everything gets out of hand

ChickenMonkeyDuck, Life's Legacy has a lot of utilization in this deck. My hand can empty out extremely fast. I've tested and have this deck (minus Nissa), and Life's Legacy has proven very vital in numerous ways. If I added Caryatid I'd also be swamped with mana dorks.
Prige, I'm glad you've had that experience. It really is a strong deck. Even without the Satyr/Nykthos combo it does well. But with it... When it happens... Holy shit, eh? Lol
P.S. you forgot to +1 the deck. I'm guessing you like it ;)

I've had it where I've untapped Nykthos with two Satyrs and then placed another Nykthos for my land per turn untapped forests with Nissa and gotten nearly 30 floating mana. Polukranos and Hydra Broodmaster love that. And so does your hand.

I like this deck a lot. Like a lot, a lot. I'm thinking of taking this and maybe splash red for Xenagos, the Reveler?
July 23, 2014 2:20 p.m.
Yeah I play tested this deck probably 10 times had no problem with ramping into something big and terrifying. I also simulated a mulligan down to 5 twice and still had no problem with lands or ramp. This deck seems very consistent +1 for sure!
I made a similar version of this deck and I like it, if you could be also give me your feedback on what you think about my deck that would be much appreciated.

Thanks for all the positive feedback, you guys! It seems we have a deck itching to become competitive.
EarthToThien, I suppose you could. Just for Xenagos? At least you have Genesis Hydra to help dig for it (guaranteeing he enters the battlefield), and Burning-Tree Emissary to help with the 1x Red. I'm leery of you adding red mana in any form, however, as it could slow down the deck a lot. Maybe some Sylvan Caryatid?
Jshot72, I'll check it out in a little bit. (And, thank you!)

Because Voyaging Satyr and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx work wonders. A devotion deck like this loves that combination. Hexproof is nice, but unless Khans of Takir has something, I'll be taking Burning-Tree Emissary out and then possibly putting in Sylvan Caryatid.
HiddenStrings says... #2
That remains to be seen from whatever Khans of Takir gives us. I don't really want to speculate until I know for sure. It's very possible something really tasty will be released that will change this deck around a little. It's possible nothing much at all will change this deck.
Not sure, bro. Not sure.
