A super fast ramp deck to get a bunch of mana early. If you happened to open a Nissa, Vastwood Seer
in a pack or something, then this deck is a fantastic budget deck at around $20. I also avoid infinite combos so my magic buddies and I can have some fun. I see no fun in insta-win decks. That's right, I'm talking about Splinter-Twin. grrr... Anywho on with the deck!
~~The Tiny Leader~~
Nissa, Vastwood Seer
: I chose Nissa because I opened her in a pack and haven't been able to use her in standard. My first thought was to make a bounce deck and just bounce Nissa back and forth. That didn't work so I decided to go as rampy as possible, and this is the end result! When I finally reach 6 forests, I usually just play Nissa, fetch the forest and play, immediately flip, -2 for Ashaya, let her get hit, then play her again for another forest. Or if I don't need Ashaya, I just proceed to +1 and ramp.
~~Creatures~~
-The Big Guys-
Dungrove Elder: Self explanatory, easily a 12/12 around turn 5. To top it off he has hexproof.
Budoka Gardener: A fantastic mana dump to get X/X elementals and swarm the board with huge elementals.
Undergrowth Champion: Gets really big with all these sorceries giving him one or two +1/+1 counters a pop.
Predator Ooze
: A cute slimy indestructable ball of nastiness. Just keep swinging to get it bigger or a beautiful chump blocker.
Scute Mob: This card is one of my personal favorites. Five +1/+1 counters is hilarious and all, but paints a giant target on your back... But still funny and game changing.
-The Support Team-
Elvish Mystic and Llanowar Elves: Simple one-drop one-mana dorks. Gets you a turn early in mana.
Courser of Kruphix: Knowing what's next can help you plan ahead and help regen missing life from early aggro. Just a beautiful card.
Grazing Gladehart
: Like Courser of Kruphix with life regen but 2 life! Imagine Nissa's Pilgrimage with spell mastery. Easy 6 life.
Groundskeeper
+
Sylvan Safekeeper
: A good combo to keep your creatures safe for a turn, and to continue landfall triggers if steam has run out in the deck.
Sakura-Tribe Elder, Viridian Emissary, and Sylvan Ranger: Forest fetchers to fetch forests!
Genesis Hydra: Missing one of the big guys and have 15 forests on the field? Wait for the opponent to tap out and drop a 13/13 Genesis Hydra and start praying for something good! (Most likely gonna get something good). Then continue an onslaught of hitting them hard!
~~Magical Sorceries!~~
All of these sorceries are meant to pull forests onto the battlefield. Abuse them. That's what they're there for. Just do it. They like it.
~~Pretty Artifacts!~~
Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, and Whispersilk Cloak: Act as defensive measures against spot removals such as Doom Blade or Go for the Throat.
Ring of Kalonia
: Because a 90/90 Scute Mob can be blocked by an Elvish Mystic
Sword of the Animist: Because MANA!!!
~~The One Enchantment~~
Gaea's Touch: Because... uh... MANA! And the niffty ability to sac and gain two green mana. Woo ramp!
~~The Last Instant~~
Vines of Vastwood: A great way to protect a valuable creature. Also kick for +4/+4 to surprise or end games or to barely kill a creature. Combat tricks are just nice to have.
The maybeboard is a beautiful place for cards that would definitely make the deck better, but beware! It'll drain you of your money! The fetches there if you want to thin the deck further and trigger landfall thingy abilities.
As a notice to you reading all the way down here, this deck is super vulnerable to early aggro and absolute control decks such as mono-red goblins or mono-blue Jace decks. I've played against a lot of mono-colored decks. shhhh...
+1 for this deck would be nice, it's just right there, please? Please? Comments and suggestions are welcome for this deck. If you made it this far, thank you for reading and I hope you all ramp and stomp with this deck!
