Hi guys!

Welcome to my Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind budget, casual deck.

I'm a big fan of Niv and tried to make a deck which is not to expensive but still has the playstyle and feeling of Niv. Of course it should be able to win some games in my playgroup. What you see now is the result of my effort to accieve that goal.

After some playtesting, i think this deck performs very well. I was able to win more games than lose, even if some of that losses were due to the fact i discarded Curiosity or Ophidian Eye on purpose (cause i thought its cheap winning 2 games in a row with that combo).

Now your turn guys! Tell me what you think about the deck and leave some suggestions, but remember that this deck is a low budget deck. :)

Curiosity & Ophidian Eye

ofc they are in the deck, but i dont play them every game, because in my opinion thats no fun.

Jace, Unraveler of Secrets

i chose him because he is cheap and gives me everything i need, carddraw and control.

Ral Zarek

his first ability has a lot of potential (Izzet Boilerworks, Sol Ring, Arcanis the Omnipotent )extra turns are allways nice and u will get atleast 1 (if you arent total out of luck)

Monastery Siege

i like this card, if you have a control heavy opponent it gives you protection, otherwise its a steady carddraw.

Rhystic Study

love it. if you have Willbreaker, Neko-Te Sigil of Sleep you can drain the enemys mana. they only have to pay but that can make the difference between 1 spell cast or 2. otherwise you get free cards.

Willbreaker, Neko-Te & Sigil of Sleep

some of my control cards. most time im playing multipalyer games, so its not that easy to win just with direct dmg. with this card i only have to hit enemy creatures with 1 dmg to get rid of them.be aware that Neko-Te is negated by Intruder Alarm but it still doubles your dmg on enemies.

Intruder Alarm

annoying and helps you getting more card with Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, Arcanis the Omnipotent , Mercurial Chemister or Jace's Archivist

Laboratory Maniac + Enter the Infinite

i think i dont need to explain this combo. if you are in a multiplayer and someone gets rid of your Laboratory Maniac you can use your Elixir of Immortality, Learn from the Past, Time Reversal or the 2nd finisher Psychic Spiral

Acquire

always nice to have and especialy if someone has an Platinum Angel in his deck, like in my playgroup
