The real commander of this deck is Niv-Mizzet, Parun, Scion of the Ur-Dragon is just a tutor on a stick (as well as a revival tool once you get Niv in your graveyard). It revolves around getting Niv on the board and keeping him there at all cost. As trading removal / counterspells with your opponents actually gains you card advantage (and the fact that this deck contains tons of tutors), there should always be an answer to what your opponents do.
