HI! The title of this deck goes with some music in your head so just get the G.I. JOE theme music going then proceed. Nivmagus Elemental is just one of my favorite cards and hes the star here so im having fun LMAO! Ok done being funny and honestly there is a forum post in which prompted the building of this deck but here goes!
First and foremost ill discuss Nivmagus Elemental. One drop is essential in a control deck as you need room open for controlesque type cards. He is a win con in this deck as a general beater but one that is protected by a control deck and can eat the cards in your hand for a gg swing. I am running a couple of different tactics to feed him without really taking cards from my hand literally.
Myth Realized Is so great! Once agian one drop is important and he is also a win con protected by a control deck and my favorite part about Myth Realized is for a control deck its a mana sink!
Most of the other spells are run of the mill american control cards save for a couple,
Emerge Unscathed Relevant enough I think being a way to protect a swinging Myth Realized or a whatever hes doing Nivmagus Elemental. Rebounding it back to do it agian or exile to Nivmagus Elemental whatever is better at the time.
Dictate of Kruphix Is my food for Nivmagus Elemental. Eot im going up one card on you then I stay up on you because Im a control deck and Im playing in response. So I think giving you the extra cards as well isnt going to hurt me too much, considering you still have to have the mana to cast what you got. And agianst a mirror match Nivmagus Elemental could be the deciding factor there, being a way to still get value off my countered counters.
Swan Song Is not a definate but being able to counter as much as it does for one U is pretty awsome! Plus its important to have some low cost counter spells that I can chain onto the counterspell I use to Protect my win con. So Basically, you Path to Exile My Myth Realized after I swing, I counter with Mana Leak and while retaining priority Swan Song my Mana Leak and exile to Nivmagus Elemental. Tacking on 2 more dmg.
You can also just get down and mean swinging a T1 dropped Nivmagus Elemental. I play him pass turn, T2 play land pass, you dont make me counter so I lightning bolt my Magus and exiling it leaving 1 mana open for Swan Song or Emerge Unscathed to him walking into my turn with a 3/4 and nothing in the graveyard.
So In short Im not a control player per say so dont eat me too bad for this but just tell me if Nivmagus Elemental Doesnt worry you in this shell?
