you should have a fourth anticipate, maybe drop a spell shrivel to side and add more islands blue is close to half your mana symbols but a third your land count drop 1 mountain and swamp for 2 islands

PlagueRats that's a good point hehe, forgot about that one.
zach7 good point, spell shrivel is sideboard tech anyways, not sure why I left it in the MB.
Thanks!

Recently put together a deck like this in a draft. I had a little more control and burn, but it did very well. Didn't have much trouble except up against R/G Landfall. I think an underrated card for this deck would be Serpentine Spike. It can really save your skin. Someone the other day called it a Cone of Flame without the player target. Definitely a strong SB card in my opinion. Of course I wouldn't MB the thing though.

I think Wild Slash would also make a decent SB card, especially seeing how there's a decent amount of fog cards floating around Standard right now. Gives you a little more burn, plus the option to beat fog.

Why no lifelands? They're exceedingly cheap and help with color fixing a ton. I get that they come in tapped, but I find them very worth it.

Haha, thank you :)
Yeah I did consider them, but I didnt want yoo many lands to come into play tapped. I might test em out though.
Thanks for tge suggestion. I might consider Serpentine Spike as a one of in the sideboard, but the fact that you need 3 valid targets to be able to cast it and the 7 mana dont make it enticing.
I really want to avoid colored spell for the deck. I have yet to see a fog deck at FNM, although i know they are around, but this deck wont be seeing any FNM any time soon hehe. That's what my esper is for :D.

Yeah, I don't honestly expect to see much fog around because it's not crazy strong or anything. I do expect it to show up a little later in the meta though. There's a lot of talk of trying to come up with some sort of fog brew at my LGS. I'm known as the TurboFog guy there so I'm the one getting encouraged to try it. I mostly liked Wild Slash for the burn, but it's definitely not a must-have. Just a card to keep in mind.

y'know I think my suggestion for this budget deck has gotta be, uh, for my money your best go has gotta be 12 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip

I just made this deck and it's amazing!! thanks bro! so far I have only lost 1 out of 5 matches with this deck. I am interchanging 2 Salvage Drone for 2 Sludge Crawler and it's really helping out.

I like this deck, it appears to be a great starting point for anyone and good for most tournament play. I would suggest that because there is no overwhelmingly large Win Con, moving the forerunner of slaughter to SB and adding in sludge crawler. it will allow for a lower average mana cost and and a slightly quicker creature outlet plus another ingest trigger.

The majority of this deck can be blocked when creatures are attacking. It can manage to take out blocking creatures with Swarm Surge I guess. I hope those Anticipates grab something good because I never found them useful in my old Blue+Black deck. It maaaaay be good at getting late unwanted lands but that's about it.
Perhaps Eldrazi Skyspawner can be beneficial to this deck. Fathom Feeder is a good sideboard card in a creature-heavy matchup too.

This is an old deck I made for funsies when the Eldrazi craze was going on at the beginning of BFZ. This was supposed to be a super cheap, super casual deck, and for that purpose it works fine. I don't really plan on updating this ever hehe.
I do want to touch on Anticipate and say that too many people underestimate it. Maybe this isn't the best place for it, but I love the card and would only replace it with baby Jace.

The cards I would try to start with are Unlicensed Disintegration and Contraband Kingpin. Then you'll need Glint-Nest Crane and then I guess it's an artifact deck. Jam a bunch of budget artifact creatures and probably four Stitcher's Graft, done

Those are all good suggestions and I will definitely consider them. I am still not sure which way I want to direct it: control, re-animator, aristocrats/tokens, or artifacts. In all likely hood since this deck is more than anything for casual/newer players I might try to make the deck stick, flavor wise if anything, to the newest set; thus meaning it will indeed be an artifact deck. I will try to get something concrete going, but right now I am slightly busy, will likely get it done and up tomorrow hopefully.

Looks cool! Just wanted to point out that you can force Tappedout to display any printing of a card and in doing so it will display the relevant selling price. Such as Mountain, Swamp, Island, add the three character set code in brackets, example; mountain (ktk)
