Fun deck! How about Gatekeeper of Malakir ? He gives you more removal, as well as a lower average cmc. Btw to add him in, consider taking out 2 Swamp , and then maybe 3 to add in another Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx . That's your ramp right there, so 26 swamp is a little bit much. Other than that, +1 :)

Hmmmm... maybe remove 2 Consuming Vapors s for 2 Gatekeeper of Malakir s considering your main lifegain is coming from Gray Merchant of Asphodel , Vampire Nighthawk and Griselbrand (which is a lot lol). Plus, Gatekeeper will raise your devotion for Gray Merchant as well, in addition to Nykthos. But idk it already looks pretty strong, just a suggestion.

Yeah, I was using Consuming Vapors in place of Devour Flesh (I normally only play standard) and I really like Devour Flesh but wanted a better version of it.

I would rather have them sac a creature and I gain life rather than having them sac a creature and I gain 2 devotion, I will have plenty out haha :)

Well just see what works. But I'd start with maybe just buying or proxying 1 (maybe 2) and take out some Desecration Demon so you don't have to sell everything you own for a full playset... Lol but they're both so good haha I hate having to take out good stuff. But hey then you can use your Desecration Demons for your standard decks, because while they're good in modern, they're awesome in standard.

Yeah I may put the phyrexian obliterators place of the Desecration Demons but I can afford to buy them once I get my taxes back ;) and a box of born of the gods I think

You definitely need Bojuka Bog in the sideboard, so take them out of main. Then take out 2 swamps and put in a third Nykthos. Then mainboard 4 Gatekeeper of Malakir . I'd also take out 2 Consuming Vapors for 2 Phyrexian Obliterator .

I'm staying with thought seize but not inquistion, I decided to use dash hopes

here's a one mana drop creature that would suck at times for the opponent if it was in here: Shadow Alley Denizen . she's a cheap card to get, cheap mana cost, and her ability can do a freaking lot as it would stack.

This deck seems a wee bit slow for modern to be honest. I really like the idea but how often will you make it to 8 mana for Griselbrand ? I imagine nykthos does help though

I actually added in 4 Dark Ritual to help speed things up, I just haven't updated it on here.

When I used this deck in a modern fnm, I took like second or third, I only lost one match with it against an RDW storm deck I believe it was, He used Grapeshot for like 40.

Ugg crap the guy I bought the Dark Ritual from said they were modern legal.
