It's not golgari, it's mono black devotion with a splash of green just for the abrupt decay and the golgari charm haha. I just don't know what else to do.

What decks did u play against?

One thing to keep in mind about Rock decks is that they can win just about any match up but a lot of it comes down to the player.

I don't think u need to go the full zombie route but would deff add in some lower CMC creatures. I run 4x Bloodghast myself, Scavenging Ooze is great (think of the utility). Nantuko Shade can make things happen.

I'm sure that you saw that a lot of modern players actually do buy goyfs & fetches & that u really need to cough up the change if you want to run a fair style deck, as there are no substitutes for things like Liliana of the Veil which is basically mandatory if u want any chance against the unfair decks.

Those bonds are all dead draws. How many times did u actually cast Gray Merchant of Asphodel ?

I usually casted him 2-3 times a game but was countered, or he was taken by Vedalken Shackles with enough islands under that owners control.

I played against like 4 control decks and one blue moon

sounds like what your deck needs is some Choke on your SB.

Magiclover318 says... #6

Yeah that would be very helpful. I will probably order two for sb.

The Inquisition of Kozilek will help. Take out their Shackles or Lightning Helix before they touch u.

...and then there is the whole Liliana of the Veil which as stated before is a must vs control.

Packing some mana hate will help too. Tectonic Edge . Keep Colonades at bay.

Ghost quarter isn't good enough? I liked it when I had it out.

APPLE01DOJ says... #9

oh it is, sorry didnt even see u had that.

April 14, 2014 3:03 p.m.

Magiclover318 says... #10

Yeah, no problem haha. I like them, I can totally screw over their attack phase if they just attack with a colonnade. I removed the night hawks for the nantuko shades as well. What do you think about that?

I think it's looking better already. Play test it on this site vs control decks and see how u do.

Will do, I think that I don't want any Garys. I just didn't find that I drew him much, and when I did, he didn't do much.

Your description is out of date.

Magiclover318 says... #14

Thanks, fixed it, what else can I do to make it better?

I added it up and it is 490 something dollars to make it exactly the way it is on here.

Without Gary all the BB 2 drops and BBB 3 drops and such aren't really very good. Tarmogoyf and Dark Confidant have now become much better choices for the deck, though they are costly. Since you were having control problems more Lilis would be great. I think you should check out Reid Duke's Obliterator Rock list from PT BNG. Your deck is pretty similar to it now.

I guess there's still an element of budget here, but without Gary you can start thinking about things like Bob

Magiclover318 says... #17

Yeah, I would love to get Bob. I will see what I can do to obtain him.

4x Thoughtseize & 4x Inquisition of Kozilek is too may. I would cut down to 6 total. 7 tops. U could put a Maelstrom Pulse MB in place of the excess discarded removal.

April 15, 2014 11:45 a.m.

Magiclover318 says... #19

Okay 3 of each and 2 Maelstrom Pulse mb?

April 15, 2014 11:46 a.m.

Don't forget Goyf if you can get it too. Courser of Kruphix deserves at least some testing. The lifegain is relevant and it clears away lands/helps hit land drops.

April 15, 2014 12:11 p.m.

Oh and don't forget to add some Treetop Village s and maybe Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth . Treetop is one of the best manlands in the format and Urborg will help cast Obliterator on curve even with the extra nonblack sources.

Magiclover318 says... #22

Yeah, I just don't like having my library revealed to my opponent.

As for the goyf, I can't afford 180 dollars per one... that's my whole paycheck for a week. Haha the manlands and urborg I will try to acquire.

April 15, 2014 12:28 p.m.

Just like make a little jar where you put money for goyfs and put like $5 a week, then over the course of your entire lifetime you can get 1 goyf. Or you can build a time machine and buy like 50 when they were on $.50 :)

lol u should get used to it.

Between Gitaxian Probe & Thoughtseize people will always no whats up. In fact at my LGS once u get Seized, people will just play with there hand facing up save the new draws. I've had people write down what was in my hand after those cards.

The thing is that once u play mana for 2 turns people will know what to expect out of your deck. If I play a swamp and fetch a swamp, people at my LGS know that they're in for a Smallpox If I play an Overgrown Tomb followed by a Green or Black mana source people will expect Liliana of the Veil and Abrupt Decay . People will know your deck list archtype, know what to expect, and may even go as far as having cards on the SB catered to the cards they know you'll bring in. For instance, Affinity may side in some Golgari Charm game 2 to deal with your Creeping Corrosion .

The deck InconspicuousPotato is trying to get u to build is pretty much the strongest deck G/B offers. I'm building it to but am at the standpoint where the only cards I need are Bob/Goyf. It's Tier 1.5 now, but with DRS used to be Tier 1. Without question. ...again though, the pilot has a lot to do with it.

Obliterator Rock

Treetop Village is awesome & wins games but to play it in your current deck u really have to also run 4x Twilight Mire otherwise casting Phyrexian Obliterator will be frustrating.

Yeah I have a long way to go for this haha... I have my naya edh deck which is like 600-700 dollars and I can scrap that to afford this if I need to.
