Flamespeaker's Will and Aspect of Gorgon are too slow for this deck. We rarely use the regenerate function, but it's there. Molting Snakeskin pumps for two and triggers prowess/heroic, making it a better option then the cards you suggest. It's faster, and it's ability is more relevant. Thanks for the suggestions, though!

I have run a mono-red deck similar to this and found that it struggled against Circle of Flame. However, splashing a bit of black might just do the trick. Temur Battle Rage is one of my favourite cards, who doesn't like double strike and trample? Deck looks pretty solid, one issue might be a heavy removal deck that has exile. Can't really suggest a sideboard option for that besides a Stormbreath Dragon as it limits the amount of removal they can use. You could also just kill them as fast as possible and hope for the best. This is my deck Mono-Red Aggro Bugget. Deck looks great +1!

I. Freaking. Love. This. Deck!! Mad props!! I haven't been on TappedOut all that long, but I'd say this is my favorite deck I've seen on the entire site! Wouldn't change a thing about it. Perfection!

The only problem that I could see is things like Bile Blight, Killshot and other kinds of low cmc spot removal.
If you take out the black and splash for white instead you get cheap protection + additional heroic triggers. Playing Favored Hoplite will probably make for good combat tricks and help against removal since even non-protection spells like Titan's Strengh will protect Favored Hoplite.

Kroto Bile Blight is one of the only problems for this deck... We have Molting Snakeskin and Boon of Erebos to regenerate from other removal. I've considered splashing white, as well as green, but I'm still testing out different builds. I'll let you know what color I settle on as my splash.

can you explain how you hit the turn 3 win? Also +1 from me
February 11, 2015 3:33 a.m.
Mardu Shadowspear gets a maximum buff of one damage per attack... Playing prowess and heroic can get way bigger, and can do more damage :) Thanks for the suggestions, though!

I like this Deck but Ive still never win in turn 3

Might wanna change the name becuase that turn three win is almost impossible with 18 lands. My first playtest i didnt draw a single good hand

It won 1 time at FNM on turn 3... You need a great hand to do it, but it IS possible. I'm considering upping the land count to 20 though... Then again, I find 2 land hands very normal with this deck, and two lands is the optimum ratio for turn 1.

seems like you don't have enough creatures to be consistent.

Hey man, one thing I want to know- does Lightning Strike make a huge difference from Magma Jet for this deck? Did the extra 1 damage ever become necessary? Because the scry 2 seems like it would really help this deck alot.
February 12, 2015 2:24 a.m.
When calculating it all out, the one damage can be important, but Magma Jet could be good. I'll look into it.
NOGzFTW: Or you didn't take time to test the deck. I just played it again last night (with some friends) and with proper mulliganing, I only got a bad hand once. I never got a turn 3 kill, but I did get a few turn 4s.
Entomo: One in every 5.4545 cards is a creature. The odds of me getting one in my opening hand are high enough that I feel comfortable with them.

I have only been playing mtg for a couple months and I am planning on running this deck. I was just wondering if Ride Down would work well with the deck? I have been testing it out and I always feel a little disappointed to spend a lot cards on one creature just to have it chump blocked.
February 12, 2015 10:34 a.m.
@Misharsh, Ride Down would require splashing white, and we have Temur Battle Rage and Rouse the Mob to give our creatures trample.

AMAZING!!! +1You should add the fourth Tormented Hero in my opinion. You have a lot of buffs and less direct damage so one more creature would be nice as an extra target for your spells. Also, Inferno Fist isn't very good. Maybe if you decide to add those two lands you mentioned then you could run two or more but with 18 lands your deck is about as awesome as it can be. Also, consider using searing blood in the sideboard.

Babafaba I'm not sure about Inferno Fist as well... I'll test it out a bit. I agree about that fourth Tormented Hero.

+1 for building a cool deck. Built this online to test it out and with only 18 land and 11 creatures I found the consistency to be sorely lacking. The majority of the time I either didn't draw a black source to cast boon to save my only guy on the field or had to mulligan to 5 just to get a creature in my opening hand. Maybe another black mana source and -1 of something? More creatures?

I don't think you read the "Heroic" ability correctly... Damage spells DO NOT trigger heroic (unless you're targeting you're own creature, which... would be dumb with a shock), making this deck not very good, you can CONSISTENTLY turn 3 with more heroic dudes and using buff spells... that -actually- trigger the ability. so, to recap. ditch the burn, more heroic, more buffs. probably gonna end up r/w or a mix of R/W/G, aka Naya, aka, top tier deck.
February 12, 2015 11:24 p.m.
Boomk1ng I'm not an idiot. I know what Heroic means. I'm not going into three colors for consistency reasons. But I have been trying it out with R/G and R/W and have been liking R/G the most. Become Immense is incredible in this deck, especially with Temur Battle Rage. I will probably ditch the burn though. Except for the Wild Slashes... They have been amazing. They remove blockers which can be very important. The burn also helps with that last little bit of damage.

I will say this. I've never liked Molting Snakeskin past a turn 2 play. Because I'd rather be playing a land or spell to trigger prowess, not a regenerating aura that will cast at the end of everything to regernerate once. I'd either throw in more lands or other auras like Flamespeaker's Will, Aspect of Gorgon.
