I love this deck. My only problem is the lands. I have more money so what should I do with the lands and keep it standard?

Mana Confluence is probably the best land for this deck...

How many of each should I add, and which ones should I take out?

im going to make something like this but white instead of black, Gods Willing, Akroan Skyguard, Mardu Scout red ik, Feat of Resistance. and maybe Bloodfire Expert for a nice turn 4 or five massive double strike with trample.

hobbes8calvin sounds fun! Post a link when it's done :)

tristanthemtgplayer I'd do 4 of each, as you don't really care about your life total... If you're tight on money, drop the fetches first...

Would you recommend siding in some typhoid rats instead of collateral damage for a mirror match or anyone not running much removal? I feel like a 1 drop death touch threat could be effective. Let me know what you think

I love this deck so much and i built it myself for fnm. I had to borrow 3 Monastery Swiftspear from my friend because my store was out and i threw in a Gurmag Swiftwing to compensate for the missing swiftspear and i went 3/1 at fnm. I only lost to a abzan ramp because i got mana flooded game one and he Abzan Charmed my satyr that was swinging for the turn 3 kill :/ Still love it and it's upvoted :)

The on weakness to this deck is bile blight. I tried this deck against a Sultai Control deck and he just wreckked me with bile blights, drown is sorrow and hero's downfall. So if you could come up with something to counteract that it would be great.

Thanks

As udoomu said, and toothb implied, Abzan Charm and Bile Blight are this deck's worse Nightmares.

toothb: Glad that you liked the deck!

laterdays17: Collateral Damage RARELY gets boarded in, and I'm not sure what else I could put in the sideboard, so Typhoid Rats is a great idea! Though I think that something like Agent of the Fates would probably be a better sideboard option. (But it's a rare :( )

udoomu: If you have a lot of control variants at your meta, definently go the green-red route... It gives you access to Ranger's Guile, Become Immense, and other goodies!

rorofat here is my version of this, still havent played it and have a slightly different irl deck as i havent gotten all the cards ive needed, but i think this will play pretty well against a control, though amy be a bit slower then the original.a white instead of black with 6 rares, (only 25$)

So i know this is extreme budget but what would you do if you were given a little extra budget to make this even more tier 1?Obviously add fetchs, probably 4-6, but what else? Bloodsoaked Champion instead of Tormented Hero? Maybe some rabble in Sideboard as a value creature for control matchups, or Thoughtseize?

So I got to play this deck Sunday evening.

Pros:It's fast. And has potential to hit hard. Turn 2 I did 6 damage, enough to make my opponent stammer in disbelief.

For a budget deck it does very well. I sorta like it.

Cons:It's not great against opponents 3 or more. The more people playing, the weaker this deck becomes. Also, if you don't get the right cards by turn 4 you're screwed. Once your opponent starts getting bigger creatures out it becomes an uphill battle. Defending means I lose life or lose my creatures as I don't have any big defenders, and with no creatures the game ends for you soon.

I feel this deck needs more direct damage to help backup your pumped up creatures. Maybe Ball Lightning, or a Fireball? Maybe a Fork as well?

Definitely going try it out, this will be the first deck for me, so do you have any tips for a beginning magic player? :D

hesuskrist: I'd probably add 4 Mana Confluence and 4 Bloodstained Mire. I wouldn't cut Tormented Hero, as her heroic can easily deal 5+ damage. Thoughtseize would DEFINITELY get put in the sideboard, but with Duress being reprinted, that'll work fine!

killermookie: Sadly, those suggestions aren't standard legal... As for multiple players, it heavily struggles. Your best bet is stick a Molting Snakeskin on one of your guys and pound repeatedly. This deck was designed to kill 1 player efficiently, thus making it bad in multiple player enviroments...

Brambird: Great! Probably the biggest tip that I have is SIDEBOARD! Not many people do, but it really makes the difference... Against decks with a lot of kill spells/burn, bring in any amount of Akroan Crusader and Collateral Damage. Against faster decks, in goes Magma Sprays. Also, try to play as many instants after blockers are declared, so you aren't wasting your spells before they block! If they decide not to block, go to town. If they do, try to make sure your creature stays alive! Good luck!

Any thoughts on Coat with venom?

Have you thought about maybe having Drown in Sorrow's or Anger of the Gods in sideboard. I know Anger is kinda expensive but it could still help

rorofat says... #18

laterdays17 I've looked at it, but I'm not sure what to take out... Death touch works well with trample, but it isn't a really big p/t booster...

alexw130 they're a tad slow for this deck, and because the decks I would be boarding them in against are already pretty good matchups, I don't see the point of playing them...

April 18, 2015 12:48 p.m.

As that guy above said, why not use Bloodsoaked Champion over Tormented Hero?

May 6, 2015 10:32 a.m.

6tennis says... #20

magnetcrocodile I don't think you even Heroic, bro.

May 6, 2015 12:16 p.m.

rorofat says... #21

Because tormented hero can block, and it turns virtually all my spells into one more damage :)

May 6, 2015 2:32 p.m.

Ahh yea it has 2/1 body. I don't know how but in my mind it's a 1/2 that ETB tapped. Nvm then. Proceed

so i was test playing this deck and turn 3 after i dumped 2 instance onto my only creature going to hit for 10. it got hit with an ultimate price and never drew another creature. while with a perfect hand you can kill them very quick. however if they kill your creature you will never draw another one. creature count is so low. but i like the idea
