I've been thinking about some of the formats my LGS plays, or lack there of, and thought about ways of introducing EDH players to 60 Card formats in an easy manner. That's when it hit me, why not bring back Tiny Leaders? There's a small banlist that has been cultivated that takes into account newer releases, but I feel as if this is a format that can be expanded upon and explored to see what interactions there are. If you're unfamiliar, Tiny Leaders is a 1v1 format similar to EDH, though decks are 50 cards and you have a 10 card side board for best of 3 games. Starting life totals are 25, and most other EDH rules apply outside of Commander Damage, and no card in your deck can exceed 3 Mana Value (This includes for split cards and modal dual faced cards as well). I'm going to be uploading some of the lists I've come up with, starting with two Tiny Leaders Classics. This list is my take on Alesha, a solid Mardu Midrange deck looking to use efficient removal spells, hand disruption, and card advantage to grind out the win. I'm excited to see if this format has legs at my LGS, since it seems like such a fun way to play an EDH like format. What're your thoughts on Tiny Leaders, and might you give it a try??
