I have a similiar deck, for this build you need card:Druids' Repository
deck:door-to-nothingness-07-07-12-1 my deck.

This is going to be a post-rotation deck, so Rites of Flourishing cannot be included.
+2 card:Druids' Repository -2 Gilded Lotus
Let's see how it goes.

Maybe some Fog type spells so that you can continually swing in with your creatures?
August 6, 2012 10:48 a.m.
I imagine you're suggesting Fog as a way to charge the card:Druids' Repository.
Nice idea, but in reality, I rarely need more than 2 or 3 counters on it.
You have, however given me the idea to add Fog Bank to slow the opponent down.

With 8 cards that can technically attack in your deck, how many charge counters could you actually expect to get on card:Druids' Repository? they both just have 2 toughness and you'll want to sacrifice half of them. You'll also get as much enchantment hate as your opponent has in games 2 and 3 if it were to work.
August 10, 2012 5:03 a.m.
In most playtests I get 2-3 counters on card:Druids' Repository which is normally sufficient to fill in any gaps in my lands. As I don't need to deal damage I normally just attack with Dawntreader Elk , then sacrifice it in response.
You're right in saying that all available artifact hate is going to be rolled out on game 2 and 3.
I was thinking of adding card:Faith's Shield to protect my door: after all, it only needs to stay on the battlefield for one turn.
I never said that building a Door to Nothingness deck would be easy, in fact all I need to consider myself satisfied is to win one FNM game. Not match, game.
August 10, 2012 7:22 a.m.
ah, Ok. I the description said match. I could see this taking game 1. I just think it'll have to be very lucky -- even moreso than game 1 -- to get another game.
August 10, 2012 8:54 a.m.
Ah, shit, you're right. Fixed.
I know it will be very hard, any suggestions to make it less so?

I know you don't want other win-cons, but what about a 20-turn clock? at just one more mana, Stuffy Doll might be better at dissuading attacks than Tree of Redemption
I'm at a loss thinking of post-rotation cards that would be really helpful here. A friend of mine does a standard-legal door deck, but he has no creatures, it's about ramp, counters, and fogs, and it uses Rites of Flourishing with 26 lands, Beast Within , and Mana Leak . What you really could use is a way to wipe the board. It'll probably come in RTR, but there's not a good solution now.
August 10, 2012 10:04 a.m.
Actually, Stuffy Doll isn't a bad idea... I didn't really like Tree of Redemption anyway.
I'm curious: do you have a link to your friend's deck?

I constructed a Door Deck and it is currently being tested in at my local FNM standard tournament. This is the current edit of it You Just got Door'd. I found state based destruction cards such as Planar Cleansing and Day of Judgment work a whole lot better than single target elimination. With Geist of Saint Traft and others with hexproof, "target" spells just don't work. I also included cards in my sideboard to fight against superfriends decks. I love the concept of your deck and I think I might incorporate some of those ideas in mine.

stuffy doll is a win condition, imo. and here was that spoiled card in RtR that makes all land have "tap: add one mana of any color to your mana pool." could let you effectively play mono green ramp. i think i'm going to play it in my battle of wits deck too.

Chromatic Lantern ? That's a very good idea. I think it's time to give this deck a major overhaul.

the Keyrune artifacts from RtR are nice for ramp... but technically they could be considered a win-con...

I would say the 2x Dawntreader Elk... you already have alot of ways to get specific mana out of your library. Or any other card that you find yourself not wanting/needing to use...

I playtested with a varying combination of keyrunes, but they don't work too well.
I think I'll drop the 2 Oblivion Ring s for an extra two Fog Bank s.

I'll try to find the link later, but I made an omniscience combo deck pre-rotation that could survive while ramping up to 10 mana. might look at it for possible additions.went 2-2 at fnm with it.

theres the deck. I didn't update it from the 2nd fnm where it went 2-2 but the decklist is fairly close. Since your running door, i wouldn't recommend the lotus because it only adds a single color

I've had a look at your deck and was thinking that Abundant Growth might be a good idea.
-2 card:Ranger's Path -1 Farseek for 3 Abundant Growth ? What do you think?
I was originally running Tree of Redemption but after testing I found that Fog Bank works a lot better. I might put a couple in the sideboard, though, as they probably work a lot better against red burn decks.
