With that said K4m4r0 I do believe swapping Swan Song for Fierce Guardianship is a much better option. 1 huge thing about our deck. Lets keep them with one less blocker for us to swing in.
- We get our commander out ASAP hence free counter we like counters.

Then again this is just a counterspell and we are talkin 1 mana vs no mana lol hard to decide tbh

This really is a very tough choice, also very situational.

Hmm, I think Fierce Guardianship might be slightly better than Swan Song, simply because we want to play the commander ASAP, but if we tap out playing him, we have 0 mana left for protection. If we don't need to worry about the commander getting countered it is a very strong option, even better than Force of Will, which would be a slam dunk, iff we had the amount of blue cards to support it, which I don't think is the case.

I played the deck the first time yesterday and ran into an Esper Control with Aminatou, the Fateshifter.
I hardly stand a chance against her flicker capabilities, which killed all relevant creatures, especially my Commander, if he entered.
He flickered things like Cavalier of Dawn and Elspeth Conquers Death and his deck is full of ETB cards killing and removing my stuff.
I have no idea how to handle this.

P. S. And as he conquered my commander with Agent of Treachery I gave up.

@bl4ckb0l7 well, once flicker decks have their value engines up, the other players have to work together to dismantle it. If it's 1v1, mulligan for countermagic and keep it up. You can patiently build a wall while keeping mana up to counter the engine or the payoff and win in one big attack. Or switch out some of the buff spells for something like Heroic Intervention, Asceticism, Diplomatic Immunity and the likes. Also a slow and steady value engine naturally is a terrible matchup for an aggro/midgrange deck, so it's rarely gonna be easy against decks like Brago, King Eternal, the one you mentioned, Roon of the Hidden Realm and the likes..

It's a sad day for Arcades, this leviathan crab 0/17 hasn't defender :/

What about Wall of Stolen Identity in addition to this deck?

Wall of Stolen Identity doesn't seem good enough. It's too expensive at 4, and it plays badly around Meekstone, Fell the Mighty and Wave of Reckoning.
If a clone effect is needed I'd consider Phantasmal Image or just steal it with Gilded Drake instead. Neither give you a draw with the commander, but they cost half as much and have just as/more powerful effects.

So what do you guys think about the new (old) frame for Arcades? I'm not quite sure if I like it. Somehow the artwork is too modern for the old frame style.

I like old frames but not the multi-colors one, it feel so weird... i would prefer the frame they used on commander legend for etched foils.

Anybody tested Reflections of Littjara with "Walls", yet? I am a bit torn about it, also because of the high cmc. If you run it, how many true Walls do you have in your deck?
April 15, 2021 4:04 p.m.
I didn't tried Reflections of Littjara Have you K4m4r0 ?
Also have you seen this new defender from Adventure in the forgotten realm ? Flumph What do you think of this one ?
June 26, 2021 5:44 p.m.
Also Excavated Wall is a very slight upgrade to Steel Wall even if we will not use the mill ability most of the time.
June 26, 2021 6:29 p.m.
Hey Eloniel, I haven't tested it yet. Our group hasn't met for a while now, due to the restrictions. Hopefully soon! I don't like cards who give advantege to my opponents, therefore I probably won't add Flumph . Aside from flying, he isn't very special either. You are right with Excavated Wall and I will get my hands on one and switch it with Steel Wall , thanks!
July 3, 2021 4:16 a.m.
Hey K4m4r0 so regarding Flumph since you choose the opponent that get the card, you can choose the one that is way behind other and benefit from a card draw, personally i think it's worth it. You can make deal with other player with it like i attack you with it and you block with 1/1, 2/2 or 3/3 and we are both rewarded that way you draw and you remove a creature from the opponent board.
Regarding Steel Wall and Excavated Wall , a new card was spoiled between my last message and now. It's Secret Door , ok it's one blue instead of a generic mana but i feel we would want to use more often his ability than the mill one.
Two 0/4 defender in the same set, maybe it's a defender cycle in this set and we will receive a green defender ?
PS: are you french ? Kamaro is the name of a rap artist there.
July 3, 2021 6:34 a.m.
Hey Eloniel, I'm not from France, but that is a very fun coincidence :D
Secret Door will replace Steel Wall , it is very fun and may sometimes be used as a mana dump. Hopefully there is a cool and thematic Dungeon for Arcades! Sadly there is no green wall in the new set:(
I'm still not sold on Flumph (even though it has a pretty neat Full Art Card), but I'm very interested in your experience with it!

What about Kindred Summons in this deck?
Isn't it a machine? Double your Defenders and draw cards at the same time?
July 27, 2021 8:49 a.m.
At this point don't you feel like we should replace battle/fast/check land with 3 pathway from Zendikar and Kaldheim ?
Since we don't run fetch land we should not be affected by the fact they don't have land types.
August 13, 2021 10:10 p.m.
bl4ckb0l7 I haven't tested Kindred Summons or Reflections of Littjara, yet. Therefore I can't say anything about their playability. They both seem really strong but are also very expensive cmc-wise. I'd love to hear some feedback on both cards!
Eloniel I really don't like the pathways and I wouldn't run them outside of a 2 color deck. Tapping for 2 different colors is very important, especially during the early game. Also my pods are always 3+, so bond lands are basically just og duals. I would never replace them. There also aren't any fast lands in the deck?! But I understand that the mana base can be very meta dependant, so you should use what suits you and your meta best!

I love this deck. I went ahead and purchased a donald trump playmat for every time i whip this bad boy out.
I'd love some help if you wouldn't mind. I went ahead and purchased some cards to make the deck a bit better but am having a hard time finding what to take out for the following:
Savannah Tundra Tropical Island Gaea's Cradle Ancient Tomb Lotus Petal Mana Crypt Mana Vault Birds of Paradise Avacyn's Pilgrim Chrome Mox Mox Diamond Noble Hierarch Sylvan Caryatid Vine Trellis
thank you very much, been loving this deck for the last 2 years but its time to upgrade it to make it more competitive with my CEDH pod :*(

Welcone back Eloniel! While I think that Fierce Guardianship is a really strong card, I think it is too situational and requires your commander out to be free, otherwise it is very expensive cmc wise. And with Spell Pierce I'm also able to counter something early in the game.
My oponents always had their key creatures out after resolving Slaughter the Strong. I don't think that it wouldn't fit, but it's just not for my group, where Wave of Reckoning performs much better.
I totally agree with you on the legendary wall. With every new set announced, I hope for cool new toys for our deck!
