I like the Abzan Manifest deck better. It looks more enjoyable to play.

She enables the manifest mechanic with her -2 by letting you choose what to manifest. I'll think about it though.

Took out Hooded Hydra because it was one of the few cards I held instead of played, also because it felt too "Therosy."

Uhh... bad news dude - M15 rotates out at the same time as Theros, sorry!Of course, there might be a Liliana Vess and/or Urborg reprint in Magic Origins...

It does? I thought it went after Theros block. Oh well. Those are tricks anyways. Thanks for the info!

Why no Siege Rhino?

Notice this deck has no ETB effects because it doesn't trigger when you flip it from manifest. It only triggers if you play it, and you wont be playing your creatures from your hand at all past maybe turn 3. You will have so many choices of which creature spell to flip from manifest (at instant speed, without using the stack) that you will likely end up holding your hand to freak out your opponent or fill the board after any board wipe problems.

My answer to Rhino is to flip a Hidden Dragonslayer to kill it, then use that 3/2 lifelink to take my life back by force.

A playset of Hooded Hydra would be devastating in this deck. Flipping for two green and getting a 5/5 (or a 7/7 if you've got a Trail of Mystery out) is just insane value. The same can be said for Master of Pearls. While grabbing land with your Trails and getting a temporary buff is fine, I'd definitely find a spot in the 75 for two Mastery of the Unseen, if not a full playset. The card is an absolute beast when it comes to stabilizing the board, and gaining precious life against aggro decks. I'd almost take out the Ghostfire Blades, if only because you want to be spending mana interacting with creatures rather than equipping them (but that might just be preference; the GW manifest that I'm running right now has not had good success with the blade).

I appreciate the info! I was curious about the Ghostfire Blade since it seems like it takes my threats to another tier. What more can you tell me about your experience with them? I could easily trade out the blades for 3 hydras...

My concern with the Hooded Hydra was that I might be forced to play it from my hand frequently if I have a full playset. Also it can't be searched out with Collected Company. Maybe I'm overly concerned with drawing cards I can't easily play from my hand at the beginning of this standard, but I see a lot of aggro decks.

Sadly the hydra doesn't work that way. If it gets manifested u have to pay it's morph cost of 5.

I would also add in a sorin for the +1 attack buff for your turn and your opponentso turn and lifelink. To survive heavy aggro.

Actually, the Manifest rules say "Put it on the battlefield face down as a 2/2 creature. Turn it face up any time for its mana cost if it's a creature card". So you would pay and 0 for X for Hooded Hydra and it would flip and get the counters

OoCaptainMilkoO is correct. This is one of the awesomely broken interactions between morph and manifest. You can choose to flip a manifested card for it's morph cost if that is more beneficial to your play, but you don't have to. This means the manifested Hidden Dragonslayer can be flipped for 2 OR 3, depending on if you want the +1/+1 counter from megamorph. However if you play a creature as a 2/2 morph from your hand, you can only flip it for its listed morph cost.

Abzan Falconer is nowhere near Standard power level. Seems like a good slot to add in Mastery of the Unseen. There are going to be times where you have nothing to do with your mana, and Mastery gives you something (and gets you out of Aggro/Burn range when you start flipping).

Legionnaire thank you for the recommendation. You are correct in identifying those 2 slots as utility slots. I currently have Mastery of the Unseen in the sideboard to swap back and forth with the Trail of Mystery which I prefer to mainboard. Abzan Falconer is a 3 drop that can be searched out with Collected Company, combos with my megamorphs, and gives me a recourse against big flying creatures (which have been what get me in my testing). As soon as people stop running Stormbreath Dragon it won't be as critical to run them anymore, because Hidden Dragonslayer can hit just about anything else.
