Flamerush Rider? Other dash creatures?

@Nixin72: I considered the dash creatures. Sadly, the ability is too expensive or the effect is very underwhelming. I mean, Flamerush Rider would give me another Wall of Blossoms (and an attack for 3 damage, yes) for . For the same CMC, I can cast a 2 drop creature, return the Wall to my hand and cast it. The main reason to include dash creatures would be to always have a creature in my hand, but Glitterfang does that or a lot less mana.

Thanks for the suggestion!

One dasher would work great here:

Lightning Berserker

Cheap dash cost and can be pumped for meaningful dmg

Oh wow, that one could be good in here. Even if I never use the Firebreathing ability, it's a better Glitterfang. Thanks for the suggestion!

So since I have been following this deck, I have continued to playtest against random top modern decks. Other than G/B/X decks (which it is weak to, already) this decks only seems to fold to heavy control U/W/X decks. With that in mind, I feel that you could really boost the speed of this deck to prevent mid-late games from occurring in those games. How so?

I have been playtesting with the new 2-drop enchantment, Impact Tremors, and it has done wonders. Like I said, doesn't help against the already weak matchup of G/B/X decks, however it has seemed to help against control decks in game 1. This card FORCES a counterspell because U/W/X decks run no answers to enchantments in mainboard. Post board, they have a few options but may not even side in due to you only having these 4 in.

I have a more dedicated strategy that only uses my creatures for chump blocking. However, has proven to provide a strong consistency. Though different, you can get a decent example of the Impact Tremors via playtesting. Here is the deck for reference: Casual 60-card Purphoros

@Dreno33: People are continuously playtesting my decks? Cool... It's especially great to know which modern archetypes I have a bad matchup against, since I only play casually against non-modern decks. Thanks for testing, and by all means, continue!

Seems like I should follow spoiler season more closely. First Lightning Berserker and now Impact Tremors. This seems quite strong in here. It probably really shines in a Norin/token deck (like yours), but I don't want to abandon the original idea of cycling creatures with Cloudstone Curio. People at my LGS have started killing Champion of Lambholt on sight (after getting killed by her for 2 years...), so she probably can be replaced. Also, with Impact Tremors, the game should be over faster, so I don't need life gain anymore. I'm going to replace the Soul Wardens with 1 of each Nest Invader, Norin the Wary, Purphoros, God of the Forge and Enlightened Tutor.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I tested the 2-color version of the deck and it worked much better than with 3 colors, so I'll change it permanently.

Comments have been cleared, thanks for your suggestions, everyone.

No Birds of Paradise? I'd think that it would work well here.

@Scouty: I didn't have mana problems since I downgraded the mana base from 3 to 2 colors, so the Birds aren't really neccessary.

Thanks for your suggestion!

Roaring Primadox could put creatures back in your hand to play again, if you put Elvish Visionary then you could draw more cards.

@MohenjoDaro: Thanks for the suggestion!

Unfortunately, Roaring Primadox is too expensive and does too little. With 4 mana I want to play Purphoros, God of the Forge to win the next turn or Collected Company to get some etb triggers. And Cloudstone Curio lets me return multiple creatures per turn to my hand for less mana.

Being so tired I misread Cloudstone Curio. Reading it correctly, it does the bouncing perfectly.

@Warxuaroz: Thanks for the suggestion!

When this was in Naya colors, I ran 4 Soul Wardens. It was very good, 10 life per turn were pretty common. When Impact Tremors came along, I decided to make the deck more aggressive.

Before, I had to draw into Purphoros, God of the Forge (or Enlightened Tutor) and the earliest I could deal damage was turn 4. The Wardens were important to keep me alive long enough (They were even more important at the very beginning when there was no Purphoros yet and I ran Warstorm Surge and Primal Forcemage...).

Adding Impact Tremors meant that I drew into my damage dealers more easily, and that I dealt damage as early as turn 2. I could now win on turn 6-7 (which was very good in my casual meta back then). The Wardens weren't neccessary anymore.

Without White, the deck now wins turn 5 quite consistently. The other decks in my meta got stronger, too, but if I get into a tight spot, I prefer playing a tempo game with Stingscourger over gaining life with Essence Warden.

@up: Sure thing! I had to mention Essence Warden after seeing your deck. I ran an EtB deck myself using Wardens and Cathedral Sanctifiers.Also: maybe a Fervor?

@Warxuaroz: Thanks for the suggestion!

This deck won't attack, except in one of three corner cases:

Fervor isn't neccessary.
