How well has it been performing? Seems pretty fun... taking out just ONE key land in a 3 color deck can be brutal. Nice job focusing on a weakness in the meta.

At first I was a little skeptical on how you would make this work with the high mana costs to cast the spells AND copy it but honestly you seemed to ramp fine. +1. 4x Temple of Abandon might be risky if you care about hyper aggro (might set you a turn behind) but otherwise it's fine.

Pretty cool man, nice use of Ember Swallower .

I have a Wildfire based deck that puts Hammer of Purphoros to pretty good use, maybe you could use it as well. Granted, my deck has Countryside Crusher and Crucible of Worlds in it, but still.

For more destruction you could add Aggressive Mining .

Maybe 2x Crater's Claws for 2x Lightning Strike . It has been working well for me, wins the game at times.

Have you considered Generator Servant ? He could help you get out a Demolish or Desecration Plague faster. I guess that Elvish Mystic might be your route to that, though. Just a thought.

+1, love seeing different deck designs that think outside the normal std box.

you do know Chandra, Pyromaster doesn't cast the card for free right?

@Hollisx509x: For her ultimate? Yea it does. I am aware she doesn't cast the cards exiled with her "0" for free, but I don't care. She's in here for tempo.

Did you get to rock this last night?

@Rasta_Viking29: No, not yet. By competitive I mean useable in a competitive environment, and that I'm currently building it for a competitive environment. I would be honored if someone would try it out though. : )

I have been running a very similiar land destruction post rotation deck since about 2 weeks before the last block rotated out. Let me tell you, this deck DOES work. I will be playing it again this Wed. night. Last week I got the nut draw. T-1 Forest ElvishMystic T-2 Mountain Sylvan Caryatid Elvish Mystic T-3 Mountain Ember Swallower T-4 Forest Xenagos, the Reveler +1 for mana for 4, tapped mana dorks for other 3. Ember Swallower went monstrous and opponent, jaw gaped wide open, was like WTF just happened. I looked at him and said " move on to game 2"? lmao.. priceless. I have noticed in a regular non nuthand game though that the only matchup i was weak against is Mono Green monsters or r/g monsters in some cases. when playing these 2 matchups, I side in Burn Away cus if not, Arbor Colossus usually stops me dead in my tracks. Have fun with this one though, I know I will.

I'm not the biggest authority on competitive play. With that said, don't change anything

@Spivanis & Rasta_Viking29: Howl of the Horde seems to overall be under preforming, so I I'm probably going to remove it. Same with Chandra. What should I replace them with? More burn for taking out opposing mana dorks? More fatties? More lands? I don't know based on how many options there are... :P

Maybe Stoke the Flames as your four-drop and Tormenting Voice for some sort of card draw? I'm not too good with RG card draw, but it seems like it would help you.

If your problem is with mono-green monsters, I'd suggest going Jund LD and splashing black for disruption (Brain Maggot , Thoughtseize and Despise ) and spot removal.

probably just adding 2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and the appropriate temples is all you'd need. Maybe some land fetch if there's any in standard that are fast enough.

I've only played a couple hands with this deck so I'll have to think about it. My initial inclination would be to add 4x Goblin Rabblemaster . Presenting a clock while you attack your opponents resources will change the dynamic of your deck. Stranding the opponents Anger of the Gods , Polukranos, World Eater , or Hero's Downfall in their hand while you beat face is kind of akin to Thoughtseize 'n to clear the way. Land destruction aims to create virtual card advantage and buy time for an aggressive deck to seal the deal. As the game progresses the opponent will return to parity and and erase the resource advantages you gained early if you're not proactive.

I like Ember Swallower , he works well here. I might try a Jund version of this Friday. Thoughtseize , Despise and Murderous Cut .

I also realised Demolish could target your own Scuttling Doom Engine if you chose to play them.
