With the release of Gatecrash, decks such as Jund Midrange, American Midrange, and Esper Control have taken the reins of the standard metagame. However, strong forces like Bant seem to be a little less advertised, since Azorius and Selesnya were released in RTR. With little to gain from Gatecrash, this deck is a revision to the old style from RTR in order to cope with the new metagame present.

As always, Angel of Serenity is one of several win conditions this deck uses. Drogskol Reaver finds a place in this deck as well, with its evasion, double strike and card advantage ability (He also does well at killing off creatures that use Kessig Wolf Run). Drogskol gives you benefits from Blind Obedience, allowing every card you play from then after to let you draw a card for 1 extra mana.

In the sideboard, Curse of Echoes to replicate more potent spells, like a Bonfire or even Slaughter Games if the opponent changes during second game. Sigarda, Host of Herons still holds place in the sideboard through her ability to null Liliana of the Veil and Devour Flesh.
